| First of all the effort was top notch on Thursday and has been since the start of the season under Cullen. We missed Smiths guidance but as an attacking threat Coyle was very good. Scott Yates was far to indecisive, do i let it go dead or do i pick it up and go? you need to make your mind up instantly Scott or you will be found out. We didnt control the speed of the play the ball for large parts and Gleeson and Penkywicz took advantage big style. Overall there wasnt much between the sides and the players we had missing will make a big difference when they get back.
Haggertys injury doesnt look good although it is yet to be confirmed i imagine he will be missing for a while. So thats our 2 biggest lads out with Pickersgill also out for most of the season. I spotted a thread on the TIW board saying Mills should come back, thats a big no from me, he plays like a girl and that is why he's rotting away in the reserves at Hull KR. We have a position for a loan signing/dual reg and we need to first of all make the Ben Davies loan signing last until the end of the season. I would use the other loan part for Sam Moa from Hull, cant quite get in at the moment due to them having a strong pack but if terms could be agreed between both i would like to see him in a Widnes shirt. Dave Allen also has a reported broken ankle but we should be able to cover that by moving Varks back to the pack as Toa is due back shortly.
We need Ford back, i realise he can also be shakey but i dont have confidence at all in Yates.
We need a prop if Haggerty is out for a while (lets hope it isnt as bad as first feared)

I'd agree with all of that with the exception of the bit about Scott Yates...
I think he was justified in his decision making about seeing whether the ball would run dead or not. He had time and moved quickly enough when the attacking team approached him.
His positioning could have been better but the kicking game by Brannighan was pretty much spot on and he ran the ball back fearlessly.
Personally I would like to see Ford back and alternate the two.. choosing the games that Yates features in to build his confidence.
Other than that I think the rest is spot on.

Is this for injury, or that stupid tackle v Sheffield?
If it is injury, then his ban should be after he is fit to resume !

If this is the case with Picks out til play offs as well you should be allowed to de register one... off cap etc and sign up another guy! A bit like Stacey Jones / Dobson for Catz but only if player out for the season IMO!
We already have a lot of youngsters in our squad of forwards so losing some doesn't help there as the lads behind them are too young at 16/17!

you don't need Heggarty. The guys a liability and a loose cannon.
Stick with your kids. At least they will play for their shirt !

| I'd like to agree bt Hagga has been fantastic when he has played this season... loose cannon? He's made one bad tackle in like the whole of his career yet he's gets called a dirty thug and loose cannon by people :/
The kids are doing great, my only worry is they are now the regular first teamers but who covers them even on a weeks abscence?
