That was a cracking match tonight, of course it's nice to see the wire get beat but you were very good and will have a sucessful season.

I'll raise a drink to that.. The atmosphere at the HJ was phenomenal.

I totally agree and the atmosphere was tremendous tonight.Think the turning point was when briers went off.Two strong teams, and uncle albert is abit upset on your site.

Think it's a bit disrespectful to point to Briers' injury as the reason Warrington lost. He was probably the worst defender on the pitch, after all. Wigan's comeback was fantastic, and granted the injuries to Briers and Monaghan made a mess of Warrington's attacking play, the match was a fair result.

One thing's for sure already for me. There's at least five genuine title contenders this season.

There is about five, you have to wonder whether it's because the also rans are getting better or the top teams are getting worse. Probably a combination of the two. With the current play off system and the levelling of the field this could get interesting. Same for our division tbf.

Whitehaven lost to Workington though today, they sound like they're in trouble.

Why are widnes fans with so obsessed with wire losing? when widnes lose I don't even bat an eyelid. For the record a draw would have been a fair result. Without the video ref wire would have won as we would have got the benefit of the doubt from the ref on at least one of those 3 disallowed efforts. Plenty more games to go and we will win far more than we lose playing like that. Maybe we will draw widnes in the cup and teach you a few new tactics!

Not quite sure what is up with Leeds, but as far as Saints are concerned IMO they have been a bit short sighted in regards to replacing players. I mean there's Long, Cunningham, Sculthorpe, Gidley, Talau, Wellens who have either gone or are coming to the end of their careers . These players have been some of the best players of their era and just not sure they have been replaced with like for like quality.

Sorry for bringing soccer into it but it kind of reminds me of Man Utd - Scholes, Giggs, Keane, Ronaldo - 2 of whom have gone and 2 who are at the very end of their careers. Look at the type of players that they have brought in to try to replace them with - Liam Miller, Gibson, Valencia, Kleberson, Djemba Djemba, Fletcher, Anderson, Carrick, Park - some of them maybe ok, but not in the same league as the players who were there before them. To be fair to Man Utd, they have done well this season, but unless they replace the likes of Scholes and Giggs with top class players, surely their place as title challengers will be under threat?

Where on this thread are the obsessive comments about Wire losing?

The thread was started regarding how good a game it was and developed into how competitive the league looks like becoming.
