Or because RFL old boy Rd Findley has had a word in someones ear at Red Hall, about not wanting Gateshead to go down. This means that Luke Branighan may still be contracted to a Championship club and may no longer be available. Looks like Gateshead could be saved just in the nick of time. Phew!!!

I love this stuff! This time of the year everyone (self included) likes to speculate on who's going to end up where. Some folk who'll know an agent or people at their respective clubs may pick up on whispers etc and secrets are rarely kept these days.
It (sort of) gave us plenty to talk about in the off season. Thing is, nowadays agents and clubs are getting earlier and earlier trying to steal a march on everyone else and by the time this season has finished - most clubs will more or less have a reasonable idea of what the nucleus of their playing staff will be for next season.

i have also heard that only 1 team will be going down if so i wish they would confirm it cos we aint safe yet at leigh but a bit more optimistic

Well if this is true then I hope the RFL will confirm within the next few days and not wait until the end of the fixture list,thus offering Leigh,Batley and Gateshead equal peace of mind.Or will they wait and see who actually finishes second bottom?

I really can't see that happening. With the future of Donny in doubt, that would make a 12 team CC with just 9 teams in CC1 (8 if Donny go to the wall).

theyl come out with some excuse "because of unbalanced fixtures" or whatever, but we all know that its because their corrupt, and make rules up as they go along, its such a shame that the best game in the world is spoiled by these jokers!

Look, I've no idea if it's actually true or not. It would be possible to promote the likes of Bramley Buffaloes to CH1 and give Donny a helping hand to survive, in a similar fashion to what they're doing with Celtic.


It does seem strange that Leigh are recruiting players from everywhere and have also appointed a top class coach for next season. That doesn't sound like a club which is worried about relegation. In fact they are looking more and more like they could be the team to beat in the Championship neat season.
