As has been stated on here before, if the forwards do their work, then James can work his magic.
I have not seen his 3 tries from last week, but they sound like a typical Meggsy try.
The boys need to come together off-the field in order to come together on the field.
I do hope things turn around for Widnes soon, you have too much quality in the side to do otherwise.

I don't fully by into the fact that our forwards aren't laying a good enough platform tbh!

How many times have Webster & Thacks had space and an overlap to work with yet took the wrong option? Against Barrow we created a few overlaps on our right side yet played the inside ball EVERY time and too many dummies aswell, just use the created overalp and take the easy score!

There is seriously something wrong with some people!

TBH Joe I can see there point to 'some' extent. Perhaps if Webster was given the role, it may create a bit more opportunity for him to express himself. A good scrum half should be shouting the orders to his pack anyway though I guess. But our pack hasn't been great yet.

Well he was Captain of HKR and look where that has got us...

I did note on a couple of occasions that he was shouting for the ball when in the opposition 20m zone , but Smith decided to take a different option.

Alot of KR fan's seemed to pick up on that point ALOT!

What does it become then a battle of the two, one goes, one stays?

Are pack aint been great but our half's have had enough space to do alot more than they have, I just pray tommorow when we get an overlap we actually use it rather than send Doran on the inside ball... over and over again!

He did have a good game and hopefully this is the start for him to turn his season around and who knows.

Played very well last week, created some great tries for himself. Tried kicks across the field twice which would have worked if we ever learn to catch a ball.

I noticed Webster screaming for the ball alot but Smith opted not to choose him.

I think a lot has been read into this recently.. but for me Smith has made a number of mistakes in games with his distribution. The first game at Halifax when the set-up was begging for the ball to be moved right (as we looked at it) with a massive overlap and Smith went the wrong way was a prime example. Don't think Webster was on that side that time.

The question I have to ask is whether Webster is willing to pitch in now for the team. There has been some suggestion that he is travelling over just two days a week for training and the comment he made on Thursday night about being back to work on Monday massively surprised me also..
I'm not saying he isn't, but I think he needs to be at training a far bit more if any of this is true.

Or alternativly it may be his 'farewell display'. ie This is what you could have had.

What??? You normally talk sense J2O but our pack has been torn apart mercilessly this season. It was a miracle we got so close to Haven as it was. Fortunately, they tired but had Haven been a Halifax or Barrow we'd have been buried by half-time.

That said, if the team isn't practising together, no wonder we look so disjointed

Sorry didn't read quite right, the pack aint been great but what I mean is I have still seen plenty of chances blown by the wrong option where going wide would have led to certain tries, we have three of the top wingers in comp yet they do more work running out of our 10 then having the ball in there's!
