Hulme is not poop.He is a prospect, and scored 2 tries on his debut this season,so cant be that bad.Not worth risking half injured players,and they end out for a longer term.

Webster is not very big or richard myler and they are great players.Yes he does need to bulk up but that will happen as he gets into his twenties.Coyle has a injured hand and i prefer his fingers to be better and rest.

How on earth do you work out that Hulme is poop? people doubted the fragile and Skinny Richard Myler, look at him now..........The fact that he's small agile and fast will mean problems galore for Haven IMO and his defence is pretty good from what i have seen.

I think there have been enough of these type of players to discredit this argument.. Besides he seems to have several other key attributes such as a little bit of pace, a sharp turn on him, he put some good tackles in defensively and more importantly.. he looks like his dad!!!

We should write off every single potential player who leaves his mother's womb and isn't instantaneously 10 feet tall and built like a challenger tank. Every player who has had anything about him ever has been Incredible Hulk like at five years of age. Grady for instance, remember when he broke through? Wasn't a skinny player, hasn't changed one iota since.

Let's get rid of our youth system, it's impossible for human evolution to work fast enough to make it worthwhile.

I agree physically he doesn't look ready, but in terms of talent, surely its a case of wait and see what happens. Hasn't really had enough games to make a proper judgement IMO. May turn out to be top class may end up being rubbish, but there's no rush and no need to write him off at this stage.

Having said that you'd think the next 18 months or so will be make or break for him - so I suppose from that point of view he has got quite a long way to go to in quite a short space of time

I must admit when i first heard Danny was a first team squad member i was really excited. His dad in no uncertain terms was a legend for this club, a great leader and was tough as nails and he could play a bit too. I would rank him in my top 4 Widnes players along with his brother/Tony Myler and Offiah. Judging Danny purely on performances thus far he has done absolutely nothing wrong and his core skills appear to be very good. He can defend as well as attack when needed and isnt scared of anyone. He also looks to have a fair bit of pace and judging by his determination in getting over the whitewash on Monday i see no problem with him whatsoever. His dad doesnt take any prisoners and has brought him up the right way, im sure he's seen all the videos of his dad so knows what he has to live up too.


My opinion is we have a little star that needs support, im judging Danny on his own merits not just because of the name. He's done everything needed of him thus far.

Danny’s doing very well. Cautious optimism is the way to view young, precocious talent. Over-the-top praise and high expectations can lead to disappointment (see Scott Yates for details). Too much expectation will lead to knee jerk reactions to the inevitable mistakes young players make while developing. This adds a kind of pressure that is unwarranted and which can affect performance.

From what I have seen of Hulme, he looks an exciting prospect. To say he is poo is just complete madness. His tackling is very good (he actually tackles around the legs). His support play is superb, his distribution from acting half was crisp and he actually looked to run from dummy half, something that our current number 9 could take note of.
