Hull have finally confirmed the signing of Curtis Naughton on a one year deal with a second year in the club's favour.

Sounds a very promising kid and the club got a good reference on him from Craig Fitzgibbon at the Roosters.

Squad looking good for next year. One more to come in, I reckon.

Pleased with this signing. We seem to be well stacked in the backs for next season.

That's without Crookes and Arundel too. All players seem very capable too which is a good thing with some good players missing out.
Will Michaels start? If so where does he play? Who misses out for him?

Hope Rankin gets plenty of game time too as I can't see him starting in the halves next season.

If Sir Fitz has given him a 'glowing recommendation' I can only assume he's been no problems whilst under his stewardship down under.
He would't have any truck with any young buck not towing the line.
I don't think he'll get much change out of our current head coach, either, if he has an attitude problem.

Glad to see Curtis back in SL, gutted he didn't re-sign for Bradford.
Hopefully he gets a shot in your first team at some point, he's a very exciting player that looked to have tons of potential when I saw him play for the Bulls.

Depth in the backs in shaping up nicely and this signing helps. We should have more pace available for selection across the backline - let's hope that Radford means it when he says that 'some of the established players' will be challenged for their spots.

He will provide good cover and competition for Shaul at full back.

Knocker Naughton

We are looking strong across the pack and in the threequarters but I`m not convinced about Sneyd. Pryce will be ok with his experience and the speed of the lads around him but what Sneyd brings to the table leaves me feeling hungry. I`d persevere with Rankin and Pryce for the start and see how it pans out, hopefully Rankin`s prolonged spell in the team will show some fruition. Just my thoughts like.

sneyds looked good in most of the matches ive seen him play.true he went off a bit back end of season,but so did most of cas and leeds teams since Wembley.got to start with him and pryce and leave them there.we need stability at halfback.

Welcome to the club if fitz thinks he's a good un that will do for me great reference, I too like the look of the squad next year and when I look at this season past I think we have been very unlucky our points difference was not that of a club finishing 11th with better game management and a quality kicker we would have finished in the top 8 this year, next year I think we will make the 8 in fact I think we could do better than that looking forward to it already good mixture of youth and experience just hope the hooking role does not become our weakness an injury to Houghton could leave us very short in this position

Its just an easy way of saying better leadership around the park, a problem we all know we have had since the departure of you know who. Price I hope will be a good on field leader and talker where Mark will hopefully bring a kicking game and an eye for a pass, looking at what's available and how hard it is going to be to recruit a couple of experienced half's has in KRs case, I am glad we acquired the services of these two early on and will have them on board for preseason in such an important season.

(not a dig at you) In my opinion, it's a lazy way of trying to sound like some RL expert, we don't lack "game management", we lack "leadership and direction" (on and off the park)

At my club we have specific 'wrestling' sessions quite often, and it's called as such. The objective being to be in control of the tackle in different scenarios to ultimately gain/or prevent a quick play the ball.

Our forwards also practise the 'collision', and again it's called as such. This involves making sure they connect with the defender(s) in the most effective position, the leg drive after initial impact, and even down to basics like making sure you're not leading with the ball carrying arm.

From my experiences both terms are used in RL quite widely.

Only since Eddie and Stevo came on the scene, they are garbage phrases.

It is interesting to learn who the kids are, and who the old hands are. Different eras and different opinions.

They're just terms for aspects of the game, not sure it's important enough to be disgruntled over?

I remember you saying you watched NRL, you must hear both terms used out there? I'd guess at Australia being the origin of the two, rather than those two muppets.
