Right, here's a question for you. Last season, with essentially the same players, Warrington were toiling in the league. They bring in Smith mid season and win the Challenge Cup, then this season are frontrunners alongside Wigan. Do you think sacking an English coach, who was "well thought of" and who consequently they persisted with long after mediocre results suggested they should do otherwise, and going out to get a proven top class coach, has had any impact on the club's performances? Do you think Warrington made a mistake in doing so?

The FC connection is obvious , would/could/should this work for us?

I remember saying this last season when Warrington appointed Smith.....he sorted the Discipline out when he got there,shipped Gleeson out and got Mathers......and he got under-performing players like Monaghan and King playing well......he has just brought structure to a team that has had no additions,similar to Mcguire at Wigan......its is blindingly obvious to all the fans that this is the answer but not to our board.

It's no coincidence that when you invest in a quality coach you get major improvements. See Wire, Wigan and Hudds for examples.

You could add Crusaders to that list paul.....and when you invest in out of his depth coaches,you get what you deserve.

I dont rate Noble all that much to be honest but he would have been a better appointment than Mr charisma.

Talking to a ex-players Dad (who was working down my street) whos sun is now with Noble at Crusaders and said that he is loving it as he is being COACHED properly.

im not sure if i would have liked him at hull or not, in hindsight yeah

I suspect I know which player, was talking to his mam she pretty much said the same...good luck to the kid.

I agree with you........would like to see someone better than Noble at Hull but would have had him over Agar any time of the week.

Yep that's the one.

Would not have wanted Noble, however it would have been a better appointment than Agar. I initially backed Agar once he got the job and thought it could well have been a sensible decision in the long run. However it has not worked out and it is time to spend money and get a proven coach and not another assistant who has good potential.

Crusaders have also improved by bringing in a massive amount of overseas players.

They had a massive amount of overseas players last season



They had to go home though



Credit has to go to the coaching team, they have players no-one else particularly wanted, they have had very little preparation with the team.

Absolutely , it's how the money is spent , who you buy and then getting the players brought in playing as a team and they've done it pretty quickly.

Crusaders are not good for the game IMO, 14 of last weeks squad overseas, they had a promising Full back, but went and signed, who's name are can't spell, Shivkoski??? only my opinion though,. Is,nt TL injured too, he's not played many, must admit Thacks looks in better shape though!!!

Thacks looks like he's playing for a contract and lee plays limited minutes.

Agree but I feel that we would have probably bought the wrong players in and /or not got them gelling in the time scale that Noble has. We would have been saying it'll take two years for these players to get used to the english game/weather /political system etc

That's what Hull are doing in sticking by Richard Agar despite performances over the last couple of years. Meanwhile other clubs such as Warrington, Wigan and Huddersfield (aside from yesterday) have decided to bite the bullet and appoint a top class coach.

Spot on OP. A few years back when we were doing well I used to worry that when Simon Moran eventually sacked his mate Cullen they would overtake us, I was mightily relieved when it did happen that he only replaced him with that clown Lowes. Unfortunately though Moran soon came to his senses and got them a proper coach and the rest is history.

It's a similar story with Huddersfield, Jon Sharp had clearly taken them as far as he was ever going to so they eventually replaced him with a top
class coach. Since then they've improved massively... While we appointed their reject to our coaching set up!

Sharp also brought the Giants conditioner with him IIRC. From which point our fitness appears to have declined and theirs improved. Figures.

Can we make that into a massive banner and display it in the East Stand at the next home game?
