The Rev is a legend and I for one will be sad to see him go. Many a time I've chatted with him and he's a very knowledgable guy.

Although I'm not religious I think some of his blessings and addresses have been great and he'll be a hard act to follow.

Rev. Allen Bagshawe took me to York to raise money for Jack Harrison, we chatted all the way there about Rugby League.

He has been great for the club.

Has he been deemed part of the drinking culture???

.I personally would like to thank Rev Allen ,For the time and care he gave us all in the last month which my family had a awful time.

Alan has been a pleasure to know, he works tirlessly on behalf of the club. He has been there offering support and advice when it was needed within the family that is Hull FC as part of his duty as official chaplain. He is also the official chaplain for the Hul fair and I know he will be missed by the Yorkshire showmans Guild.

He is staying on for the Jack Harrison VC MC commitee, which he chairs so I look forward to seeing him there. I hope he will be officiating on rememberance Sunday this year when we will lay a wreath on Jack Harrisons memorial as a tribute to him and all the other players and supporters of this great game.

I have never actually met the Reverend, but I have fond memories of him singing christmas carols over the tannoy at the Boulevard when I was a kid.

The word "gentleman" is often used in error, but the Rev. is definately one of them. Has done so much for FC and I am sure will continue to do so, a very respected man (and deservedly so), I hope he, and his family, enjoy a long and happy retirement.

To be fair his blessing of the FC side over the last 2 seasons hasnt been good enough, look at all of the injuries.

We are obviously recruiting a chaplain with closer links to the man upstairs.

I have known Allen for many years (since the early 80's). I spoke to him after the Quins game and we had a long chat about his time with the club. He is retiring from St Matthews soon as well and is to stay involved in sport and rugby league, but he also introduced me to his replacement (Tony).

I am sure older members here will remember his Boxing day on-field Carol singing which in the days of the old threepenny took some real courage. He always managed to get some participation in Oh Come all ye Faithful!

I would wish Allen well in his future life and also in his house hunting as he leaves the vicarage.

Hope he isn't being drawn towards to those "bright stars in the east".
