Well he did play for Newcastle, Donny, England A and is now club captain of an RU side he would rather play for than watching the side of the business he runs. Usually it wouldnt suprise me but why would RFU go for someone that is very hit and miss with his job?

His record at Hull is very good I think, he has overseen the A license and off field activites such as merchandise, ticket sales etc at Hull are all excellent aswell as the deal with P&O.

Not sure what he has done wrong really from a business pov.

Would rather see Hetherington go first then give Rule a chance with a board that are wanting to support the club because they have a affinity with it not just looking to be a cash generator for themselves.

I think he's done pretty well to be honest. There's only so much he can do on his own. He's answerable to the shareholders & that's where the problems lie.
Do people honestly think things will improve if he left the club?.
I think things could be even worse. Be careful what you wish for.............

While I'm not doubting the good things he has done, he has made errors as well, such as Thackray and the Reardon signing, plus not doing enough research before switching to Fridays. Thats 3 big errors imo off the top of my head, imagine if he made similar errors for an organisation the size of the RFU?
