No. FC [ihad[/i a poor relationship with Radio Humberside (who are not 'the media', no matter how much some folk like to think so) following the Cooke saga. That was redressed over a year ago.

If there are any problems between the Beeb and FC at the moment I would hazard a guess that they are down to the disgraceful performance of Burns the other night and would once again be limited to Blunderside.

Were his comments really that bad? I sense a bit of an over reaction here.

I have no idea if FC have any problems with Blunderside or not. It wouldn't surprise me if something had been said, however.

As for Burns' comments - when even Gollum has to tell him that he's out of order, I think it's fair to say he was pretty bad.

Gollum doesn't know what day it is let alone if something is out of order or not. I can see why his comments would upset a few people, but some are calling for him to be sacked. That would be extreme wouldn't it?

Personally I don't see it as a sacking offence necessarily. I would expect him to have some form of internal discipline, however. Some of his comments were arguably actionable.

Internal discipline, which will amount to nothing, as in the case of Raynor, Cockayne and Pryce. You know how it works.

It will probably involve a reprimand and possibly his absence from the airwaves for a period. In fact the latter may have already happened.

I heard him interview Phil Brown yesterday? Not live I accept, but he was on sportstalk in some form.
