I appreciate things are sensitive. But I only quoted facts. I feel sorry for hfc_herts. He's been crapped on from a great height but not as much as the Harlequins fans last season who got short notice about a change to their trip to Catalans.

| Quote ="hfc herts"Firstly Mr Rhino why don't you disappear to your own forum and keep your nose out of matters that do not concern you.
As for you lovely supporters who want us all to be good and loyal and drop everything simply because the RFL , Sky and the two clubs in Hull say we have to its not so bl00dy easy.
Two years ago I was told that I was not really part of the clubs plans along with many many more fans who live away from Hull. Yes people do actually move away from the area and still support the club they love. Bizzare I know for such a little sport like RL.
I have had to accept that as a non season ticket holder now I am no longer valued by both the club and some keyboard warriors on her who think they are greater than most because their disposable income goes on watching Hull FC and beers, as opposed to family and mortgages.
But I am on Hull FC's mailing list. I have had numerous emails telling me to get my tickets early for the Derby. Heaven forbid I miss out on getting my favourite seat for the biggest game on our league programme.
So I bought my ticket 3 weeks ago. I bought my rail ticket 3 weeks ago. I booked my annual leave 5 months ago. My job is not one were I can say on Monday I want Friday off and all around me drop everything to cover me.
So are you with me so far. I have simply moved heaven and earth to see games this season and especially to ensure I get to the Derby.
I have seen the press release that says we have sold 16000 tickets which is more than ever before at this stage of the build up.
Then bang its all change.
The club must have known about this for days as they have consulted with Police and SMC. Yet they still proceed with the marketing to get us all to purchase tickets. WTF did they not give us prior notice? Why not hold off selling tickets? Seems we went through this 2 years ago when we decided on Fridays only.
It simply serves to alianate us the fans.
The game is over 100 years old. The club is nearly 150 years old, yet we seem to think that Sky if they pull out will lead to the sport collapsing. Cods wallop. They said that when ITV pulled out of football.Clubs would disappear and the game would change. Ok Grimsby have struggled. They have found their level more like.
If clubs need the Sky money to balance books and pay full time wages then maybe they need to be more prudent. Sky could go at any time regardless of Hull and Rovers playing on a Thursday. The game will survive without a shadow of doubt.
If the RFL and clubs want us to follow them then they have to start having some consideration for those of us who purchase tickets, shirts , etc etc which I am certain is far more than what Sky give collectively.
So this fan now has to go out of his way to get a refund. A change of annual leave is not an option for me. I have to try and get a train ticket refund and in all honesty I wonder why we bother.
Why would I buy a ticket in advance in future when there is absoluelty no chance of knowing if the game will go ahead on the date on the ticket? If they can do this to fans following the biggest supported game of the season they can easily do it for any game they please.
So Mr Rhino consider other please before spouting drivel and all of you who state "well you have enough notice to change your plans" it may be easy for you in your ivory tower but for alot of us its dam near impossible and will serve to simply turn some of us away from a game we love far more than execs at Sky and the RFL.'"
woah, im guessing your rather peeved off??? this (for once) aint the clubs fault, sky pulls the strings, and for "most" people a month is enough notice!

This is not a my cats blacker than your cat situation. This is about 16000 people buying tickets / passes for a Friday night game. Of those a fare proportion will have made arrangements to swap shifts, get baby sitters make travel arrangements etc. That plus a club who have been bigging this match u big style to ensure we get our tickets early to avoid disappointment. Then 3 weeks before hand 16000 people are expected to drop everything and make alternative arrangements.
Rhinos vs Oldham might affect a couple of hundred people. Hull Salford may affect a few thousand, Hull Rovers affects the biggest crowd of the season. It should have been sorted before tickets went on sale. Quote the RFL all you like it does not make it morally correct. And certainly not the actons of an organisation which is constantly trying to attract new supporters.
I am sure the RFL and Sky are acting within their agreements but do you seriously think this is something that we as fans should just say " ah well 5h1t happens from time to time" because I for one and I am sure I am not the only one am getting somewhat sick of this being done at the expense of loyal supporters of any club.

but sh*t does happen from time to time, such is life, the game will still attract a massive crowd, possibly close to a sell out, tbh im not sure what the fans could do to air thier concerns, if it had been changed to the saturday, no one would have been bothered! get over it mate, its going to happen anyway

I agree with what you are saying. I do feel sorry for you and hope if you do complain you get somewhere. Certain fixtures can be moved easily. This I suppose isn't one because of all the security issues around it.

You are a fine one to talk, what about the Whinos playing Wigan at same time as cricket? your club reduced your capacity to 10k, you could not even sell that out

| My first child is due on the 15th of july, having planned my procreation to coincide with the derby game ( i.e i would of had ample time to witness birth name child etc etc. ) I am now in the unfortunate position that i may not be able to witness my firstborn being brought into the world, much worse the missus will punish me by dressing him/her in red and white babygro's

But the crowd was actually similar to recent challenge cup ties at Headingley between the two clubs. Jog on sunshine.

Maybe the benefits of showcasing the game to, say, 1/2 million people (just an example, I don't have a clue how many watch games on SKY) outweighs the needs of a small number of fans who have been put out.
9500 of your quoted 16000 ticket holders bought their tickets before they even knew what month the game would be played in and another 4000 or so are rovers fans who don't count anyway.

It used to be £20-25k a match, it was dropped years ago about the time of the mergers and the money was divided equally between the clubs.
Instead of Wigan, Leeds Saints and Bradford copping for most of it

You pi$$ people around at your peril of course and FC have known about this for a few weeks and said ................... nothing and another PR home goal
You could argue that they could not until had been finalised with the police, but they might have had a bit of customer care and issued a statement.

I now live in London and dont get home to often, so when i saw this game was on a Friday i thought id have a long weekend at home. I also invited my 2 housemates one from Belfast the other Penzance who have never seen a game live or on the TV. So now we have paid in excess of £100 for train tickets with no chance of a refund. | Like it or not, Sky plough a huge amount of money into our sport and therefore, as somebody else has already pointed out, call the tune. The RFL are clearly happy with that situation and therefore the clubs must accept that things like this will occur from time to time. I also don't subscribe to the "Hull FC must have known about it for ages" notion either. Up to this morning, the Sky live RL fixtures for that weekend were still "to be confirmed". If I was in marketing at Sky and knew the Hull derby was being shown, I'd have wanted it known to Joe Public as soon as possible.
Also, to those folk who are complaining about already having bought train tickets and are struggling to get a refund?, well I'm guessing you got them in advance to save a few quid. Fair enough, but there's always a risk in doing this to save money. How did you know your own circumstances wouldn't change? If you'd waited and bought the tickets at the station on the day, you wouldn't have a problem. Harsh maybe, but sometimes life is unfortunately.

Well said. I do have sympathy for people who will miss the game because of this but the way people are crying and moaning about it as if they've been morally wronged is ridiculous.

Have you seen the price of train tickets if purchased on the day?
Have you seen all the promiotion this game has received from the club ? Get your tickets early "avoid disappointment" etc etc.
For me its £25 to get a ticket. Tickets on the day for a train are close to £100 oh and an employer which will not stand for me ringing in on match day saying I am not coming in Hull FC are playing.
This is not something I do once a year to watch us against the dobbins this is a process I go through for every match I attend home and away, and have done for 20 years now. So naturally I feel very let down. I am increasingly feeling let down as this was never the case 2 or three years ago. It is now happening two or three time a season.
Add to that three kids a wife, mortgage etc etc and I think its possibly more sensible for me to make plans in advance. But hey this forum and sensible at times are not soul mates are they.
A little honesty from people running the game and the club from time to time may well be appreciated by those of us who can't just drop everything at a moments notice.
Shall I put myself and my family through this again ? I am seriously begining to doubt it.
