| Quote ="Sal Rossi"I'm not saying you're wrong but in your opinion, who are our 'Pat Richards' and 'George Carmont' then?
How so? Because they're playing for a SL rookie coach? Bear in mind where he served his apprenticeship; probably the current best model for a RL coaching set-up anywhere in the modern game. Wigan play to their manifold strengths. And they have more than one game plan.
I was disappointed with our performance on Friday on a whole host of levels. Watching the game again, trying to be subjective, Wigan were classes apart. Everywhere across the pitch. And in the stands.
We're a big club with regards to finance [income and support. Unfortunately we don't appear to have a big club mindset anywhere else.'"
Who had ever heard of richards and carmont before they came over? Hardly world class signings, plus wigan were reported to want to get rid of richards a couple of seasons back. They're both solid players but I doubt they'd be more than fringe players at most top NRL clubs.
How do you think yeaman and briscoe would go in teh wigan back line? Briscoe in particular is better quality than any of the wigan 3/4's

| Quote ="Jake the Peg"You reckon? Who had ever heard of george carmont or amos roberts before they came over? Similarly pat richards. None of them were considered that great before this season. Add in an inexperienced goulding and a past his best martin gleeson and it's hardly a 3/4 line of superstars. they've been playing their star half back at full back recently and leuluai is flitting between hooker and SH.
leeds and saints have pretty much been relying on kids all season in the 3/4's due to injuries.
wire I'll give you but I think we have plenty of quality in our back line, we just don't use it. We have a current GB winger who hardly ever touches the ball and a former GB centre who gets similar service'"
I thought the reason the current GB winger hardly ever touches the ball is because he's playing outside the former GB centre who never passes to him

1. Amos Roberts

5. Pat Richards
6. Sam Tomkins
7. Thomas Leuluai
8. Mark O'Meley
9. Mark Riddell
10. Andy Coley

12. Craig Fitzgibbon
13. Sean O'Loughlin
14. Danny Houghton
15. Stuart Fielden
16. Sam Moa
17. Cameron Phelps

You're picking players on form though. yes, we'd take plenty of wigan players now, but how many Hull players would look much better under maguire?

| like ive said before our team isnt that bad, yeh ok we could do with 1 or 2 more signings in certain positions but when you look at wigan team on paper it isnt great, leeds, saints, wire have all better teams on paper but its the coaching. if we had a top class coach and we were well orginised ect then alot of our current players would look alot better the likes of yeamen, tansey, horne ect who have been critisised recently. when mcguire took other wigan he brought in 1 player in deacon who hasnt played alot at all and turned them from finishing 5th or whatever it was to top of league comfortably playing some great attacking rugby without bringing a wholelot of players in. what im saying is alot of our players who arnt really performing atm but under a good coach these players would flurish

| Say Wigan finish 1 Warrington 2 and both DON:T make the Grand Final and Warrington don't make the Cup Final How would they fan feel ..Its possible the Grand Final could be Saints v Leeds plus the Cup Final could be Saint/Leeds v Catalan it just one of those seasons were anything could happen ..The Grand Final could even be 2 dark (horses ) Teams

Forget form; the Wigan players are a different class. Yes they are playing better, but they are also better.
Perhaps could make a case for Manu (btw it is a scandal he's in the england squad.)

Carmont Ill give you as an average NRL player, I remember we were heavily linked to him about six years ago when he was mostly playing premier league rugby, Roberts was quality and had good spells with numerous clubs, Richards was also making a very good reputation for himself as the typical modern athletic winger, and raised a few eyebrows when he left the NRL and from what I recall came here on the back of scoring one of the best ever try's in a grand final, at the time I considered both top class signings for Wigan and that has been proven.

Your opinion changes like the weather usually but I guess you have to stick to the 'Expro-Lite' attitude now after claiming after the derby that you are confident that we will win silverwear under Agar

The negative views are not universal of all the posters on this board...if you notice on weeks like this when we lose and then get the predictable threads AGAR OUT it is the same posters, a lot stay away or choose not to get involved..So the views on this board are from a small minority. Do I consider them the polar opposite of the majority of FC fans, Yes!
I think the majority of fans get fed up with some performances, but most are realistic, they go to support FC, they have encountered dark times, the last 2 seasons have been dire, but this season we are in a healthy position in the league and building. My views do not change like the weather, I get fed up with some aspects like most supporters of other clubs, especially our poor performances, bit like Bradford, Catalans, KR to name but 3 have encountered at some points this season..Yes I believe Agar is capable of winning silver wear before his [u2 years are up[/u
I suppose this weeks posters can carry on with their snide remarks to supports who do not support their views!

| The coach i go to all the away games on is definately an Agar out coach, with the majority of them not happy with the very miniscule progress he has made. The majority of the people who sit around me at the KC also feel the same. And at Murrayfield before the game nearly everyone i spoke to was dissapointed with him.
Now that to me says it is the minority who think Agar is the man for the job, either that or i just seem to attract Hull fans who dislike him as a coach.
When you couple this with fans from other teams making comments on this forum that we need to get shut of Agar it tells a different story.

So I am sure if this is the view of the majority it WILL reflect in next seasons pass sales and we should be 1000s down...But I bet we are not!

| Depends how you define fickle. I am not fickle i felt last season Agar should have gone, and like many others gave him the benefit of the doubt for this season but still felt he wasn't the man for the job. I really have not changed my opinion throughout all of this.
I do know what you mean though, you get some who are happy to Agar bash when losing but soon switch over when we get a couple of wins.

It was not personal and I know you have not rated Agar from the beginning...
It is like I pointed out though it is the same people waiting on the sidelines to do the bashing when we lose...it just gets so boring, and I have noticed it is getting very personal toward certain posters...so many keyboard warriors
The majority of fans will reflect on the season and remmeber the atmopshere at the Saints game and other games which entertained them, they will go through winter and then buy their passes, they go to watch rugby and hope to win some-thing if they do then great, if they don't they will dream the dream for the following year, at the end of the day it is just a sport

The majority of fans i come across, whether it be patients or work colleagues all think Agar should not be in charge, the people we sit near at the KC agree he shouldnt be in charge, he may be a top bloke, but imo i just dont think hes the man to take this club forward, i never thought it last season, and i wont think it next season!!
his brand of rugby is so dour, un-entertaining, just boring, aside from a few games its been like this for a couple of seasons, the players hes signed have been great (when fit) but they dont need coaching, the derby games, the players dont (shouldnt) need motivating, i just dont get excited going to watch FC any more, its become a chore, and Friday night was terrible, a loss i expected, but getting nilled at home???? seriously do you think this is good enough? in your opinion, what does Agar bring to this club?

NOW you're in trouble
I'll live the dream no matter what, it doesn't make me a fool for supporting the club I love. The people running the club do take the fans for granted sometimes and I can see why some people will make a choice as to whether they'll renew passes, but doesn't that happen every year?

You would? After the two seasons we've just had we sold more passes than ever before. That's not a sign of fickle support. Yet a number of top class OZ and NZ internationals have come over and flopped or at least not lived up to the reputation they came here with. They then either claim lack of settling or excuses are made for them. I think a lot of it is the big names have nothing to prove and as such don't put the effort in. The 'lesser' names have a point to prove and shine.
