long would be a good option if he was likely to be fit most of the time but he won't. Of those you've listed, only pryce seems to have regular injury problems. the others have been one offs. long has had more injuries this season than dobson has in his career. If long had the odd lengthy injury your argument would be valid but he doesn't, he gets injured, has a time out, comes back and plays a game or two then gets injured again. No continuity and a big chunk of cap sat in the stands. As obst has shown(or he did until he too got injured), a much less skillful player who plays regularly is better than a more skillful player who can't string more than 3 games together

Not sure about this. Thorman played 21 games in his one season at FC and I think was fit but not selected for some others, and was not valuable in the slightest. At least Long has the ability to turn a game on the rare occasions he takes the field.

I agree with you on this one Jake, consistency is the key for me (and again agreeing, not consistently e) and whilst I would love a "long" spell at 7 (see what I did there) it just hasn't materialised unfortunately and the occasional brilliant performance only makes me think about what I wish we had. Obst may be no long, but he's there so much more and at at good level.

If I was in Moa's position a one year extention is all I'd want.

Hopefully Moa in his position wants, and gets, more. Would love 2-3 years.

I'd be very happy as well, I just think all players should put them selves in a position to get the biggest deal and that will be for 2013.

If there is not a good option available at halfback then I would go with the three we have Long, Horne and Obst plus a back up of Nicklas and Williams for the future and there is also possibly the Ellis deal.

It all depends on what is available and right now I don't see any half options that would be free for next season unless we buy someone out like Chase.

which is understandable, but with Horne and Long both on reduced deals we should be able to easily accomodate it, assuming we don't just give Horne a silly sentimental deal.

I don't think our board are stupid, if Horne gets a new 1 or 2 year deal I would expect it to be on reduced terms.

I hope it's not a 2 year deal, if we keep both him and Long it should be on one year, maybe give Horne a 1+1 on condition of games played or something.

Ellis isn't on loan from saints, they let him go. He is a Leigh player on a one year deal.
