I thought he would've stayed at Rovers and had a decent impact on their season last year (apart from missing touch in the CC final

Don't know if he wanted to go back to Aus but he may be an option, still young but may want an NRL clause which I hope we would stay away from but beggars can't be choosers.

I think it would be a solid signing, did well in his few games here and is still young enough to improve (which he should do in the Panthers environment), think he will stay though as he will the main backup next year when Luai leaves.

I would look at a few Rovers players though, Corey Hall would be a good signing, Burgess or Senior and I would take Parcell for a year.

As for JWH, it's a 200k plus gamble, one that we can't afford to take, but maybe Rovers can, it could turn out like Willie Mason or SKD, we are pretty well stocked at prop, we already have 3 quota spots on props, think we have more important areas to strengthen,

Bit surprised Dane Laurie hasn't got first shot at 6 for Penrith. Their was a bit of talk about him being Luais replacement when they signed him

I would stay away from Burgess but Senior has always looked good for them, solid with pace and would be a decent signing, not sure with Hall he burst onto the scene at Wakey but hasn't seen much game time over there and they have been messing around trying him.in the second row.

Probably right on Burgess. Think Hall has great potential, but cant see him getting a game with their two centres. Senior would be a good replacement for McIntosh, younger, quicker and probably cheaper, him Martin and Tindall would be decent wing options and allow us to spend more money in more key positions.

Think its probably a lot more intense in the NRL than over here along with possibly spending more hours in the day training than we do. Do think Smith is too casual and laid back which can be a positive but also quite a negative.

Not bothered who the Dobbins sign for next season, or any other club..if Pearson doesn't back Smith to sign some quality, then expect season pass sales to drop!

If the Clifford quote is correct, think that's the rumour of him coming back done.

Not read it but if I had to guess I bet he's said something along the lines of "pre-season in England is different, with a different sort of intensity and something about the weather" then the headline goes "SL pre-season too easy says Clifford". The Aussie media seems even worse than ours for clickbait headlines.

I'm not doubting what he said is true but some things are better left unsaid. It doesn't reflect well on Smith, the coaching staff or even the club itself especially considering how poor we were last season.

I'd love him to come back next season but I can't see it at least not to us.

One things for sure, I hope to god we are already scouting for a half back and not leaving it to the last minute.

SL is still way behind in most facets of the game with the NRL so I'm not overly bothered what Clifford has said .
Wakefield came in for a right slagging a couple of seasons ago from some quota players about them training on fields with dog shiote all over it .
