Are we actually comparing Craig Hall to Tom Briscoe?

Hopefully we can keep him this year as it would be to difficult to replace him now.

If he want's to begin negotiations then we have to throw alot of money at him, we have a few overseas players off contract next season in O'meley, Manu, Moa and Martin and we must re-invest in UK players.

The main problem I see is that while he's a exceptional talent it isn't yet fulfilled, he's inconsistant and even in his better game's he's prone to error's. He also play's in a 'less' important position and I'd guess no side in the world has their highest paid player on the wing, he maybe better off moving to the centre's from a self interest financial point of view.

If he wants to go to the NRL from 2013 then hopefully we'll sort it out asap so we can sort out our recruitment and not get ed about, ala Cooke and Carvell, if he doesn't want to go to the NRL but doesn't want renegotiate then I'd keep him with us till the end of his contract.

He's at a big club. Providing we pay him well and are ambitious why would he leave for another SL club.

We Need To keep players like briscoe.. hes one for the future of the team.. people say dont throw money at him.. why not?? if saints didnt throw money at cunnigham, long.. would they of stayed.. yes i no, saints were challenging all time, but if we lose briscoe, whats the point in bringing in youngsters because once they show there talent were just gonna let them go without a fight??

At least the lad has a better chance of some silverware now!!

In fairness though Cunnigham and Long were in key positions.

I like Briscoe as well but I arent sure chucking a huge amount of cap at a winger is the way to go if it will leave us short in other more key areas, however talented he is. In the ideal world i would love to keep him but i can certainly see the arguments and even benefits to the club if he was to move on.

If players wants to play in Oz i don't think any fan of any club would stand in the way, it is the premier competition of our sport and also pays better. It's a shame if our lads are not playing in our league but at least it gives the opportunity for someone else to come through and at the same time developing guys in Oz to improve our national chances. I'd be sad to see Briscoe go but at the same time made up for him.

Still Briscoe's chances of winning any trophy's in the near future at FC are looking doubtful.

Good post, also depends on who and what standard of winger would be available too as to what his market value would be and his self worth I guess at the time.
For me Tom would be daft to leave Hull FC for another club in SL but also daft not to try his hand in the NRL if he is given an opportunity to do so.
