Reserve grade will do nothing for his development and only serves to keep decent players fit.

It's a bit harsh saying that and I don't think you are justified in saying it due to the very very limited appearances he has made this season. His lack of 'scoots' could be down to the coaches wanting to stick to the structures and not break them up, or could be that they look ineffective by poor support play as is plainly obvious when Berro does the same.

I still rate the guy as a future star too but currently he is 18/19 years old and needs to be playing 1st grade at a lower SL/top NL1 team for a month or two with the option of us recalling him should we get injuries.

I agree, better to loan him out than him playing 21's/sat in the stands.

Cas would be a good place for him to go imo. They play a fast paced game so would suit his style imo.

It could be dwn to coaching but either way he has not earned a first team spot with his performances so far. He is young and still has tremendous potential but that potential has to be realised.

That potential isnt even being developed in the reserves, he needs to be our on loan.

I rated Danny Houghton up until fairly recently. I was probably fooled by the fact he isn't too bad at darting from dummy half. But I have come to notice how poor his passing is. He is a poorer version of Higham (someone else I don't rate highly) and I can never see him becoming a top hooker. Tommy Lee has surpassed him in the hooker role. In fact against Wakey I think we looked much better with Lee at 9 with Berrigan coming off the bench and hope that part of our selection stays the same for now

I don't think players like him and Hall will learn anything from the reserves anymore, they need to be playing at a higher level more consistently.

I know he won't be a big earner but wouldn't a loan move save us some money on the cap for the period he's away too? Better that he gets regular first team experience and someone lse pays him surely. I really wouldn't want to lose him for good though; despite some of the comments on here I think he's going to develop into a real class act.

This is true, the take of him wanting to leave Hull is total rubbish on loan or any other at the moment.

If you go to the Engage SL site and check the stats Lee v Houghton for 2008 and 2009, you'll find that Lee's figures come out FAR BETTER than Houghtons.

I was responding to the statement from someone to 'let the stats speak for themselves' suggesting that one players stats were better than the others, when in fact they weren't.

Gardner scored a truckful of tries last year, what the stats dont say is 3/4 of them were from an easy take and put down from Gidley. Houghtons stats may be misleading.

I also agree, he has been hyped up beyond belief by some fans because he can skoot from the PTB. He doesn't seem to have improved or added anything to his game since he first came into the team, in fact I'd say he has gone backwards.

Bit harsh for me that, his distribution looks like it has got a lot better but he struggles with his size for me defensively. He is targetted which is why he tops the tackle counts but he never wins the collision. Tommy Lee on the other hand can really tackle and forces spilled ball regularly due to his bigger physical presence. Guess it comes with a couple more years development.

I've not really been a fan of Lee at hooker in the past, I always thought that he would be a better back rower, well, after Hull destroyed him as a halfback anyway.
