Despite you not reading the first post...

Blackandwhites.co.uk is seen as the portal for the Diary this is correct, meanwhile with it having over 1000 readers each week. Not everyone comes on RLFANS.COM therefore it stays on Blackandwhites.co.uk where its reputation lies and where people know to find the Diary itself. I have put some work in over the last few weeks on the design and I intend to put more work in to it to bring the content up to date and bring a bit of life back to the site.

the vast majority of people accessthe diary via RLFans, as you well know, we all understand you don't have the time to keep blackandwhites as up to date as you'd like, seems pointless updating it once every few years to me.

As you would presume yes a lot of the members of RLFANS do read it but they're quite a few people seen on the terraces that DO NOT come on here and do not intend to that just go direct to Blackandwhites.co.uk on a Monday morning and print the Diary off for relatives etc. I am trying to invest more of my time into it alike I have done over the past month or so. I thank you for your comments but this is something I enjoy doing and it'll continue to be uploaded to Blackandwhites.co.uk as I try to bring a few things back to spark a bit more traffic !

Thanks for your efforts producing B&Ws. The new version is much easier to read with it having a narrower column width. I always access the FC RLFans message board via B&Ws so it would be good to have a prominent link.

I did manage to get to a point were we had an ok site for a season but I had the thing Joe never had and that is a team of people contributing. I had Mav who wrote the Guesstimate competition, Yourself did the odd article, Lisa used to take photos, Jimmy and his away days and a guy called clive (not sure of his name on here) who wrote match reports. I feel since I left the website Joe or Ash never had a lot of people to help them write content.

The whole point of a fans website is to have the fans express themselves and unfortunately (unlike wilf) they has never being a real core of people to have many articles a week. As i say I'll give a hand helping put content up and maybe one or two contacts for some other stuff, which would allow Joe to do what he does best and thats designing the site which IMO is the best its ever looked.

Ahh yes Clive, he some how unfortunatley didn't have time in the end he was down south and couldn't always get to the games, which was such a shame. I am investing a bit of time myself and Wilf has given me some ideas to go with. Im hoping to find someone with photo's and I am hopefully ggoing to sort guesstimate. Something the site misses!

The amount of emails I have had since re-launching it with regards to people coming through Blackandwhites.co.uk to get to here and vice versa has been quite a suprise I have even had a lady email from Cambodia! No it wasnt a spam email

So if the problem is a lack of contributors then why not ask for volunteers? Maybe rotate things like match reports? . Have half a dozen people give their views on next season etc.

I suggested to Joe that perhaps we could have regular pieces on:-

Away grounds we are visiting, bests pubs, free car parking, best route in and out, Food outlets, coach parking, fish shops etc. Not so much a guide to the grounds as a fans information page.

Many good fans sites like Blue Blubber ( Everton) have a great jokes page were fans can contribute, on theirs of course it is usually about Liverpool so we should have no problems finding a team to poke fun at

A fans photo gallery with a prize every month for the best FC related photo.

A tame player to do a regular column.

An Fc around the world photo page were exiled fans and holidayers can send their photos in their shirts etc

A gallery of old photos' of games from years gone by when I was writing the book I discoverd lots of fans have their own photos of old matches away days etc etc etc etc

What we need now of course is some folks to come forward to Joe and commit to taking these or any other topics they can think of onwards. If we can get at least a couple off the ground the site will start to develop and become self perpetuating!

I just think that it is a massively under used resource and since the demise of the excellant 'In Any Kinda Weather' there is a definate need to have something like this! Of course Joe needs some help with it!

You might have a problem finding a "tame player" though

The thing I found was particular when I started bnw.co.uk was that everyone was always up for volunteering but not many actually went ahead with there promises. That is not to say to tar everyone with the same brush but yeah its not always as easy as just asking for volounteers.

Rotating match reports will never work, tried that before any sometimes due to people having internet access or time to write a match report it meant sometimes they were given to me as late as 5 days after a game. That is why I would always advise going down the route of giving that job to one sole person.

Without trying to come in and take over

I reckon the best way to setup is to have all the different categories we'd be covering over the season and see if anyone wants to take on that column on a weekly basis.

For example have a match reporter, match previewer, match photographer, weekly updates on rumours (to avoid having to trawl through 40 page threads), breaking news reporter and maybe even some others to give wilf a run for his money.

That's my opinion anyway, I urge people not to be shy and if you want to have a go just step forward i'm sure Joe will take all the help on offer.

Also apologies if that doesn't make sense had a few brewskis tonight!
