| I totally agree with the consistancy, but it always seems like the same teams get the rub of the green. And what makes me laugh is when on sky they say that a team should sort out its disipline, like when the penalty count is about 12-2 in one teams favour, yet loads of the same penalties could have been given the other way but haven't.
I understand its not an easy game to referee, but the touch judges don't seem to have a clue. Its about time the RFL cleanned up its act.

| You're not allowed to slag off referee's. There'll be one along in a minute to back the poor lambs up. Watch out for "They do a hard job", "I bet you couldn't do it" and "Watch the game again, you'll see who is wrong".

| The whole call of held then the ball carrier getting taken down was a joke last night. Liam Farrell only seemed to be making 3rd man in tackles going for players knees

You forgot the "If you think you can do better take the refs course." one.

| I asked this on the Hicks thread but didn't get an answer so I'll try here. Does the ball have to pass the second rowers in the scrum in order to be "out"? The reason I ask is that towards the end of the first half we had a scrum near our own line. Our second rower (possibly Westerman) put his foot on the ball to keep it "in" the scrum and get a penalty for Wigan being offside. Child just waved this away do perhaps that's not the rule?

| as far as i'm aware the rule is as soon as he put his foot on it to stop it leaving the scrum{ie stops the balls momentum} then the ball is deemed out. otherwise as soon as it passes the second rows feet the ball is out and in play

| Love to have a bet on the Sky games but every year is getting worse because not only do you have to look at the teamsheets and current form you have to guess which way the Ref will go.
Injuries, missed tackles and such take their toll during games as we saw last night but I'm guessing Wigan's plan was to blow Hull away early and ease off with an eye on Wire next week and Child certainly contributed to them doing that.

| nearly all the refs are total shiiite alibert is prob in the top 2 best refs (well at least for being unbias) its just a shame he cant count. It sounds like your moaning about refs all the time and using them as an excuse for a defeat but its really not like that at all they are just so frustrating and when the final hooter goes it should be rugby league that is the talking point not the refs
The worse thing is the only way anything will change is if we become a top 3 team imo .

| I'm not moaning about the hull games, im talking about the majority of the games you watch. The decisions they make are terrible. The Leeds, Wigan semi final was an absolute fares.

| Apparently it's all about the speed of the play and whether you win the collision as to whether you get decisions or not.

Indeed. You might even be accused of being homophobic if you do.

| The problem is when you go to Saints, Wire, Wigan, Leeds refs will always give 50/50 calls to the home side. Hull were doing the same as Wigan in the tackle but we got penalised for it.
Also the opening two mins show it perfectly, they lose the ball and it's a steal, we lose it and it's a knock on.

| If the RFL are not careful, the game will end up like Rugger: Penalty driven results and technical infringements perpetuating games.

Exactly right. The early penalty against us for offside when we'd won the collision against Hock (?) and he'd dropped the ball was a classic. There was no shout by the referee to any Hull player telling them they were offside just the whistle after the ball was dropped. Top 4 refereeing.

Betfair should do a 'first penalty to which side' market. Then again you'd be lucky to get 1.01 on some teams.

It already is. Most tries these days are scored off the back of a penalty.
