Indeed, we can make recruitment and develop as a club without putting the financial viability into question. L**ds tried many times in the past to buy success, and it didn't work, I'd be happy with a gradual development of the club back to the top of the game over 2 or 3 years, starting with a total revamp of the coaching setup and minor tweaks in the playing staff.

So would i but a bit of serviceable debt wouldnt hurt.

As for Wigan being financially healthier, then no! Although that wouldn't be his fault. Dave Whelan ran Wigan RL simply as a loss making venture in his then JJB empire. The season prior to Ian Lenangan buying the club Wigan lost a lot more than £700k. On a turnover of around £3.5m.
IL has changed the club for the better on and off the field.
Wigan are making a profit every year now and are SL champions.
Hull FC are making a profit but on the field are at times awful!
With the squad you have Pearson does have to change the coach to bring any kind of success. It is a better squad than some of you guys think it is!
IL got rid of Noble from Wigan and look what his successor has achieved!
Difficult decisions to be made at FC but Pearson does sound like the man to make them.

If AP wanted to massively change the squad he could, he could pay off players he didn't want who were contracted for next season and pay transfers fees for players he wanted.

Hope he was well paid for his dual coach/finance director role!

He could do this and were not talking loads just 3 or 4 players so the squad as a good overall look .

But how will Pearson know how to do any of this? He's only been in rugby for three weeks.

First job should've been to recruit a proper advisor - or has he done this? McRae's name's been banded, but not in an official capacity? Surely he's not relying on Rule? Perhaps Kath wrote the the acceptance of her continued advice into the sale contract?

That's what I'm worrying about, I imagine Rule to be a fan of Agar and been AP's advisor. Which isn't good!

A friend of mine was speaking to ogre a few weeks back and he said that agar was/is the second best coach he has played for...

I think it just highlights the obvious and average mentality at the club right from the top down I thought AP might address that but I'm becoming less convinced each day that passes.

I agree tbh...but if AP has any-thing about him I am sure it he will figure out that even if the players say Agar is the best thing since sliced bread, results do not lie, nor do the decreasing crowds.

I hear what your saying but I am getting increasingly convinced he will start next season as our coach despite various sources (normally reliable) telling me otherwise.
