| Quote ="Mild Rover"The more use it sees, the more upkeep and running it requires, as well. There may be some marginal gain for Hull FC, but if the stadium started generating profits I’m sure there’s a whole load of social care and potholes and stuff like that, that could make a dent in them.
The underlying problem is that, as Pearson alluded to recently, RL doesn’t generate enough revenue. Trying to fix it by relying on concert promoters or property developers or suchlike won’t make much difference because those people want the profits from their activities.'"
Who mentioned the Stadium in terms of generating profits? What I was saying was that if the Stadiums potential was unlocked in terms of other uses other than Hull FC & Hull City fixtures this could be used to offset the operational & upkeep costs, reducing the burden to both clubs, the SMC and Council.
The upkeep required with more use would actually be marginal and any extra costs incurred should/would be added to the price for its use/hire.
It's also not about 'trying to fix it by relying on concert promoters or property developers or suchlike won’t make much difference because those people want the profits from their activities', it is simply about improving/increasing its revenue stream to offset running costs. In simplistic terms instead of just having 2 parties having to eat 2 big pieces of a pie you have 4, 5, 8, 12, the pie would remain largely the same size but each party has a lot less to eat than just 2.

While the stadium size doesnt suit every music act, looking up the coast Middlesbrough have hosted acts like Arctic Monkeys, The Killers and Take That in recent years. How much money that makes for the stadium I dont know, but having gone to the Killers gig the town centre was heaving and hotel prices extrotionate so the boost to the local area is significant.

I’m somewhat dubious about the amount of potential there is to unlock, but setting that aside…
You are talking about profits… it’s just that you’re immediately converting them into a discount for Hull FC (and City). Realistically, Hull FC are going to be back of the queue behind management and ownership.
Or, if Hull FC unlocked their potential and increased SMC revenue, then maybe they could offer more attractive deals to Bronski Beat or Kasabian or Little Mix.

yeh good piece the SMC stuff is such a good idea at least in some respects for the RFL have been to inward looking and too parochial for far too long. We certainly need to do something to rescue a game which is fast going backwards but at present I think Adam is right its bricks without straw as we are expecting them to reposition the game in the eyes of the sporting public in an ever expanding market place with no core financial support. As for what he says about the complaints from clubs that are 'relegated' not on league position but on grading that's a given. They all signed up to it but when it's actually them that's going down on their grading rather than their league position, there will be hell on with a lot of shouting, recriminations and no doubt threats of legal action.

On a side note you can tell Pearson used to work for Leeds United I perosnally dont agree at all about his comments about Elland Road being a better Magic venue than Newcastle.
But back on topic...he is right that without money any ideas from IMG wont go anywhere.

Seriously what have IMG brought to the table that has or looks to enhance the game.
You could have a fans panel who in my opinion would create more meaningful ideas than IMG.
The first IMG invoice for £500,000 hasnt gone down well and i can see why.
The game needs marketing and IMG have done nothing in that respect.
Do they seriously think Fantasy Rugby league is the way to attract young fans or market the game?
Once again the RFL are being taken for a ride which is easy to see when you look at the calibre and quality of staff they employ.
The shake up should be here.Believing a big name on your books like IMG whos claim to fame currently is wanting to scrap magic weekend and pointing out that several clubs grounds are not up to scatch is the answer to developing Rugby league in this country is deluded.

| Pearson interview with Hull Live confirms pass sales now at 7500. Believe we sold 8300 last season so we are 800 down with 3.5 weeks to go, so likely will end up slightly down. Still not bad given how bad the team has been.

Yeah, seems weird to file this now though and coincidental with the plea for someone else to come in. Idk

Maybe hear something from the club at 6pm if it's something along the lines of a new face coming in.

Just spoke to Adam Pearson about this. Says he’s going nowhere, hasn’t sold the club and hasn’t got any new investors in.
Told me it’s a ‘clerical tidying up’ relating to the bank asking them to pick one name (Hull Super League Ltd or Hull 2011 Ltd) for accounts purposes and that both companies are owned by Adam so either way he is still the owner of @hullfcofficial
He also said they’re happy where they are at the moment and aren’t actively seeking new investment. AP also added that having spoken to his finance person who was dealing with the administrative stuff on Companies House that he’s asked for it to be reverted back to what it was and that should appear on the filing history in due course.'"

| Crazy how many people get so wound up about something that makes absolutely 0 difference to anything. If Ecostrad are putting plenty of money into the club, which by all accounts they are, then they can design whatever mascot they please for all I care.

I suspect what he means by that is that they aren't going round actively touting for investors. He's said he is open to investment from other parties, presumably if he is approached by the other party.
