I would defo drop sharp but whiting on the wing? Come on! Hes a right slug in the centre never mind wing..id give lynne a chance but if not id like to see turner outside gleeson if he does sign!

He played there 12 times last season. Sharp and Lyne look a bit flaky defensively. Just saying that I could see Agar playing Whiting on the wing if we get Gleeson.

I no what your getting at and whiting didnt do much wrong when he played wing last year hes a safe option..but for me personally i want some pace out wide...sharps not performing and i think lynne and turner are physically better..with gleson inside i think either would do well!

I think that might happen too, unless Gleeson signs and then it might be Turner on the wing or Sharp might get another chance outside Gleeson.

Make more sense to put Phelps on the wing and Whiting to fullback. Did Phelps play outside Gleeson at Wigan?

A fair point that although I still think Turner would be a better wing option personally - but to be honest theres not much in it and between Whiting, Turner and Phelps we could do a wing/fullback/utility sub combo in any way. I'm not a Sharp basher and I still have hopes he could turn out well however at the present a stint in the 20's may be needed and use those three as mentioned above

Maybe so. I just think Whiting's lack of pace makes him barely a centre and never a winger. On the other hand he is very effective and can make things happen if he gets his hands on the ball. If we're going to insist on him being a back then Fullback is probably his best place.

Phelps has offered alot from fullback in the last couple of games though and moving him to the wing would lose us a good attacking option. Whiting is never a winger so if you want to drop Sharp another winger should take his place. Personally id like to see Jack Briscoe given a chance.

After watching the U20's today, briscoe is nowhere near 1st team standard

Saw him play a few U20's games in 2009 and he looked very good. Maybe needs to try his hand at a higher level to test himself.

A loan to a Championship club would help him.
