Hope this is discussed at th fans forum and put to bed as had been mentioned. I'd be strongly against this.
Its like saying to buy car insurance from x company you need to be a member of x companies private scheme. It does then give you discounts on other products from x company. What ifi dont want other products from x company but simply want my car insurance?'"
Entirely valid POV. However membership would always be only an option - its not like clubs are going to stop selling tickets (the equivalent of basic insurance cover in your simile) to non-members. Also sports clubs and their supporters have a different relationship than other businesses and their customers. Somebody is unlikely to buy a Rovers season ticket, but buy their RL replica shirt from Hull FC. If you don't want additional products, don't join the scheme.

You know what the HDM is like though, another cheap excuse for a story, trying to portray HKR as 'market leaders' with their brand new overwhelming product which every rugby club on the planet will want to follow suit with !!

Guess what my point missed was that by not joining the scheme they may lose an existing benefit like your existing seat.
To use the car insurance analagy again, if i had previously bought car insurance with company x and it came with free breakdown cover, and they then said you are only going to keep the free breakdown cover in future when you renew by being a member of our additional scheme i'd find that a bit difficult to swallow. From a customer loyalty perspective i'd probably go elsewhere.

| In reality there are a hell of a lot of Rovers fans disgusted by this scheme and even more so now they have paid their money and found that they have lost their seat, not received their membership cards or acknowledgement or been given no opportunity to take advantage of any discounts !!
Basically its stinks of the club having their money now and not giving a T055.

| A scheme isnt a bad idea in principle but how it is implemented and what benefits (or at what cost) it brings would clearly decide whether it was successful and worthwhile.

| A membership scheme is a great idea if done properly and for teh right reasons. It offers an excellent opportunity to grow the customer base and makes retention of customers much easier.
If they were no good then TESCO's wouldn't have one.
I'd like to see us launch one at no cost or with a nominal fee to cover admin expenses

A Hull FC clubcard! Points for how many the oppo score to be redeemed in the shop. That would tighten up the defence!
Extra points for injuries to keep the physio working hard.
Cracking idea Jake!

Like I say if done right and for the correct reasons.
It should provide added benefits which are not detrimental to the fans who do not wish to join or force fans to join just to avoid a season pass hike!

A reply of estimable good sense and reasoning!! Its not the scheme that is wrong but it has to be thought out, costed out and must not rip off the fans or be a means of raising some quick cash to pay the bill!!
Otherwise it has been proven by many organisations outside RL to work well as a loyalty scheme that in turn makes accessing you customer base a lot easiler, rather than a money making enterprise.

In all seriousness its not a bad idea. A Tesco like clubcard would be a great additional benefit at no extra cost to the punter. The clubcard for example gives something back without taking anything from you too.
Wonder whether FC would think about this?

It doesn't have to be. There is an argument to be had that there was a degree of compulsion about the Rovers scheme - and we had it.
But Hull's situation is different. If you lost your seat, there are plenty of others spare at the KC. But if this is the major concern, the scheme doesn't even have to be so closely linked to season tickets/reserved seats (though a members discount would be more or less inevitable). The club would want a decent level of uptake, to make the exercise worthwhile, but if they could come up with something that was attractive to a good proportion of your support, wouldn't the [ioption[/i be welcome?
You might not like the Rovers (pioneering, not market-leading ) version, either because you are partisan and don't like Rovers or you genuinely think it is cack, but I think it'd be daft to close your minds to something tailored to Hull and their fans.

Indeed. And if i didnt pay it i'd lose my seat. This is the negative driver where the club take something from you if you join, rather than the supermarket approach of seemingly giving you something for nothing.
