You always get the same from RW which is a solid performance with the occasional piece of brilliance in attack and defence.

Had a terrific game, especially when Tansey got binned. Came up with some great reads and excellent tackles.

That's the thing. We all know he doesn't have great pace but he reads the play so well he very often doesn't need it. Going to be a good tussle for the 3/4 spots this year.

One of his best games for us IMO. What an asset he's been - and continues to be - for us.

He had enough pace to catch and tackles Eastmond early on from a break, more down to his reading of the game.

I'd still prefer Hall in the centres but it's a real battle with Whiting, personally I don't see a spot yet for Turner.

Rich Whiting must be signed again and quickly. Not enough pace, blah blah blah - his speed is his quick thinking, would much rather have him than someone who can run fast but has no positional sense and cannot read the play. Gerrim signed quick before others come sniffin'!!

He was the only 1 to read Eastmonds kick over and came from nowhere to catch it....also he hurt Graham in a tackle in the 1st half....well what i could see of it.

I agree entirely. As you may know, I'm a massive fan of Whiting and last night he proved, once again, why the likes of Standee (and others who are so quick to label him 'average') haven't the faintest idea what they're talking about.

As an earlier poster said, the centre shirt should be his to lose.

Sorry Standee but you must be seeing a different Whiting to me. He rarely has a bad game in the Hull shirt and last season when he was playing he was one of the few who showed any pride. He didn't stand out last year for anything he did because lets be fair it was hard for anyone to stand out when there was no service being given.

The last part of your post is totally irrelevant. I never disputed the fact that we had won one game. What I said was, anyone that labels Whiting 'average' is an idiot. I stand by that.

You cannot class someone an idiot because they disagree with your view of a player!! Standee has his own opinion of Whiting and he is sticking with it, at least he has the good grace to admit that Whiting had a good game last night so he is not totally blinkered in his opinion.

And I will, happily, with good grace, admit to being wrong if he strings some performances like that together.

Likewise I will happily praise Agar for getting the help he needed by bringing Moore and Long in to the club, it takes a very humble manager to see their faults and recruit to rectify them.

He actually said Whiting was 'reasonable', which is idiotic in itself. It's not about disagreeing with opinions, it's about ignoring all available evidence. Whiting has been consistently good when he's played for Hull, sometimes excellent. At no point has he been average. Only an idiot would think so.
