| Quote ="A unknown superstar"Chase>Brough>Dobson for me. Dobson would be a great signing for us, but Chase evey single time over Dobbo for me.
We've also been told Galea will definitely NOT be at Hull FC next season, Chase is '200%' going to be in the B&W next season and Tickle is definitely going next season also.
Now all three of them rumours are looking like the opposite that we've been told from posters on here. Hmmm?'"
Chase we know the situation about, Brough has too big a contract even for Adam to buy out and as for Dobson they were offering him around earlier in the season but with Green gone it would be suicide for HUdge to allow that. Purely as its a rumour Board looking at the noises coming out of the Bulls and reading their board I wonder, a bit worryingly, about Sammut as a fall back, he certainly fills the maverick sort of roll I think we all agree we need to compliment Holdsworth, you know Gentle he will either see something in him that he can bring out or not, trouble is he has hardly shone at the Bulls has he and then there's Rob Burrow Leeds are looking to really shake things up, I don't know what his contract situation is though? Lets hope we still get Rangi.

I mentioned Sammut on twitter at the weekend, from his tweets he is leaving the Bulls. Not in the same class as Chase but maybe an option.

Yeh he was massive on here particularly because of his free running style at Crusaders, has seemed to go backwards at the bUlls though.

| What's the point of bringing a Sammut type player in?
Seymour is far superior.
If we aren't bringing Chase in or someone of similar calibre then stick with what we've got.
And keep the Seymour compo money in AP's pocket until quality becomes available.

| IMO if we cant get chase, throw the book at Dobson, if not stay with whom we have because with his injury sorted in the off season and one year in the UK under his belt Seymore may well come REALLY good.
no point in spending for the sake of it

| I don't see why the club would be readying themselves to end the chase, surely they would just do.
Its obvious the club really want chase as we have been persuing him for what, 2 months? What's come out today sounds like cas are trying to hold the club/pearson to ransom and this is us calling their bluff.
I had heard we were close to signing dobson earlier in the year but time will tell if he's a back up target

How are they exactly? By my reckoning it's 1.8 per game versus 1.3, with Chase playing in the team that finished joint bottom. In an extra 10 games Dobson has managed a whopping 6 more assists.

Splitting hairs on that mind you could be right had Chase not got banned for the disgusting cheap hit and suspended by his club for going on the lash it may have been more than splitting hairs, I doubt it though. Also Dobbo can kick and play in a structured team.

Splitting hairs?! It's nearly 40% more try assists per game.
If you say you'd prefer Dobson, that's up to you and your right, but if you're going to use your precious stats to back up your argument they should really check if they actually suggest what you say first.

Chase is a show pony, however I will take him cos he is better than what we have, stats are only half the story even I know that (for what it is worth a dobbin made my sig as a piiss take, and I love it as people like you think I don't know my rugby and rely on stats alone) however I [ido[/i always think it is good to check the stats . I reckon you should start looking a bit more as your assessment of players on occasions is so far off the mark it is unreal eg Turner.

Then you should work on your understanding of them. You appear to have picked one stat in isolation (total assists) and taken that as proof that Dobson and Chase are about the same in that category. You appear to try and throw stats in as factual support of your opinion, but half the time they don't even say what you are claiming and do half the work of countering your own argument.
Turner. He's made the England Knights squad and somehow that's confirmation he's the next Mal Meninga.
And if you want a show pony, Dobson is a great choice. No doubting the qualities he does have, but showing up when the going gets tough and getting stuck in is not one of them.

Show pony would suggest he has no end product which is clearly wrong.
It did make me laugh on Saturday when he was running the ball and dummying and jinking in and out without a defender being able to lay a finger on him and the usual lot were screaming to "just get hold of him". Err the reason they can't get near him is because he is class and they have no idea what he's going to do.

I could have used the other stats which show Dobbo in the better light, at the end of the day you have no evidence that Chase would have increased his stats in the 10 games he was suspended/banned. The stats are based on performance this season, simple.
I have never said he is the next Mal Meninga, however you have spent months using him as our scapegoat and claiming he is rubbish when he simply is not.
