Where's this top centre coming from?

They'll be a few clubs on the look out for them next season and I can't remember any of note coming over in the past few seasons.

There's normally a better standard of forwards available.

Obviously, just as everything you've posted on the matter is your opinion. I would genuinely be surprised if anyone could have watched that game and formed a contrary opinion though, it was very apparent.

In pre-season against Leeds IIRC, he was excellent, as he then was away at Bradford.

That's precisely why we already need to be looking IMO, there doesn't look to be an abundance about so we can't afford to be hesitant if we can find one.

I think everybody already will be, Wigan will be throwing big money about with Carmont, Roberts, Finch, Leuluia and maybe Fielden leaving.

Correct as you say HOWEVER there are lots of people whom disagree with you, AND based upon his last performance he was class end of story ..... lets take this up again after his next match shall we and discuss it again then after he has hopefully had back to back blinders

That's what I mean, others will be looking to get players signed up ASAP, if we leave it until later in the season to see if Turner is the answer it may already be too late by then.

Collis being slated on Wakey board and looked average against us IMO, Lulia looked pretty good going forward at the weekend, Purtell's been injured I think. Not sure about Gelling, don't know if he's injured or just being kept out of the team by Goulding.

Not after the next game, later than that. He needs to sustain it for a decent while, not just a handful of games. I'm willing to give him credit for what I've heard/seen about his Saints performance, but doing it again against Widnes will not convince me to change my mind just yet. He looked excellent at times last year against bottom 4 teams, it's consistency against better opposition I still question.

But it's not the end of the story. You can't judge a player based solely on his last performance, however good it was. You have to make a longer term assessment if you're going to progress as a club. I mean, what if a player was rubbish all season, then scored a four tries and saved three others in his last game? Would that be a good enough reason to give him a new contract?

Think Gelling played his first game for Wigan when they lost to Widnes, Lulia did well for Bradford against KRap, not sure on the other two

Even under Agar he scored some cracking tries last season, yes his defense was questionable at times however so were other players last season, Will Sharpe's defense was worrying last season however under Gentle he has come on a treat as I am sure Turners will.

Manu is a must keep, and I'd like us to give O'Meley another year. Turner could be kept as squad cover if his wages are low enough, same for Aspinwall.

Martin will be too old, and the rest still have to prove themselves IMO

Not meaning to seem like I'm picking an argument, but if it's too early to be making decisions on players, how can you be sure that centre and SO are key areas for recruitment in the Ellis thread?

I think one thing will be certain and that is PG will already know who he will be looking to loose and who will be staying i am sure of that

Did I say it didn't count? No. I'm saying that 2 games in a row would not be proof he's the answer to our centre problem.

I meant in terms of giving players renewals.

Martin was only ever meant to be a one season and we tried for a centre in the winter so that would seem obvious. With Moa likely to go then a prop would also be a no brainer. SO is more my own thoughts about how to take us forward and would involve paying Horney off.

I would not automatically be giving Ogre another deal just yet.
