What's even more alarming is i can't disagree.

So we get rid of the board,who,for the past 5 seasons have made a profit and twice we was at the bottom of table.........we cant knock the board for the way they run the club as a buissnes but they are accountable for giving us crap coaches.

I was there and it looked a mile forward at the time, when i saw it at half time on the tv it didn't look as bad to be honest.
Was it forward? Yes, did it alter the game, IMO no.

But thats the fun with opinions we all have differing ones.


What i find most comical about this thread is seeing certain posters who were backing Agar last week now back in the Agar out camp.

I want winner's mark , And that for me starts at the top . Some of these need to take a look at themselves and see just see why are they here .Are they here for the right reasons.

The disturbing thing, is that Wigan have annihiliated us twice this year!!

Until we adopt Wigan's mentality and style, we will never catch them.

What else they got in common....both got primarily the same squads but different coaches and better ideas.

The board don't train the players. The problem is down to the coaching staff, and that doesn't mean just Agar. The whole lot need clearing out and we need to start with a fresh set of coaches.
Take a look at football when a manager comes in they tend to bring their own backroom staff, ours have been pretty much the same for a long time and things have been going downhill for a few years as well.

Agars main job is picking the team, setting the gameplan, going over tactics and choosing the correct interchanges during games. His job should not be teaching players how to tackle, pass etc that is down to defensive/attacking coaches. We have tried different coaches and the end result seems to be the same, poor rugby overall, yes we have the odd moments when we do something good but we generally back that up with something awful. I suppose you could take one of Agars analogies and say the team are rocks and diamonds, however we tend to be rocks more often than diamonds.

This does not mean that i think Agar is not to blame as he is, as head coach he should be saying XXXX is not good enough to bring the players on etc.

Always got close in the play-offs though.

So Maguire can't be judged until after then, surely?

It's all about attitude, structures and overcoming obstacles with innovation. Nothing of which Agar can ever be praised as showing.

If we were play the game like Saints , Wire or even Wigan . We'd be pulling in 16-18'000 imo. Success breeds success . There's your money back on a top coach for a start.

Well the two seasons before this they've been within a hairs breadth of the Grand Final so I'd class that as 'decent'. It still wasn't good enough for them though and they made changes to try and ensure they did better in future, at the same time we have people telling us we should back a coach who took us from being a GF team not long before to the depths of of the table and then managed a slight improvement on it once he'd signed a few big names... it goes to show how the mentality at their club is far superior to ours.

For such a business orientated club, Hetheringtonesque, this simple fact has always baffled me as well.

Can only think it's a case of Gary not wanting us to get toooo good.
