Interesting how our new signings both say that it was their discussions with Richard Agar about the way forward with the club that persuaded them to put pen to paper.

I've often wondered about the general rationale of RL fans. Our independent thought process always goes out the window as soon as a player signs for us. We could have 80% of our fans think a player is average until he signs, and all of a sudden he's superman. There is no doubt that we need another half to play alongside him or we are just going to be back at square one in one - two years time.

I think that Horne would be an excellent partner for him TBH. What we [ido[/i need is a young 7 for him to help train up as a replacement. Otherwise you're right - we'll be back in the same spot in 2 years time.

Why didnt we get rid of Tony when he did his injury then rather than paying a years wage to a man who nobody could see play?

TBH I can see some major changes in the squad for next season and the team structure. Long has been playing in a team that expresses itself and plays a little off the cuff.

Both teams play similar clearing sets (as do most teams tbf), but its there where the similarities between Hull and Saints end. I think deep down Agar is the right man for Hull if he has total control of team structure and tactics as i believe his instincts as a coach and Longs as a player are very much alike.

Will certainly be interesting to see who else is on the radar because this signing could persuade others to come who may not otherwise have done.

A fantastic player and I am gutted to see him leaving us - good luck to him for the future!

Anything is better than Thorman I guess.
