I think that was a tactical move with the Paea announcement on the same day.

Or alternatively if you win tonight and win at magic (God as a rovers fan I hope not) then you will be flying and a announcement of a top signing will have the fans flying through the turnstiles

| Sa has to play games n is then automatically offered a new deal I think. So someone told me.
I can see something in the Pritchard rumour. Was some hints a while ago on social media when bantering with tuli motu n Sa
Totally my own guess work but if we was in for a centre I'd guess Matai could be a shout. About the right time to come over if he is & he'll know motu personally.
A prop would be on the radar with Paea off
I saw a story in oz press about Galloway maybe coming over here and 2 SL teams being interested. Maybe us? Good buds with Ellis from west's times.

| It's an absolute must that we tie down HTW, his brother wouldn't be such a big loss imo, but would still be disappointed if he left. I'd also offer Cunningham a new deal, but Radford doesn't seem to be his biggest fan, so who knows?
Sa only has a question mark over him because of his injuries. On playing ability he'd get a gig almost anywhere, either at centre or back row. His return has been a big part of our revival from what I've seen. Hope he gets an offer, but I could understand if we pass on him should someone else come knocking. He is terribly injury prone.
The rest should be released.

True, I still reckon a loss would mean an announcement on Saturday morning whereas a win would probably mean it's mid week.

| Quote ="Chris71"I didnt think Sa had a great experience with Union last time which is why he came to Hull and back to league so would be disappointed to see him go unless we have asuitable replacement coming in.
Yeaman for me is now only a bit part player and not what we need in a first choice centre if we want to progress.
The Tyson-Wilsons I'd resign and probably Cunningham but not too bothered about the others. Feka again is ok if the price is right as does not offer enough due to still only doing very limited minutes, only other question mark is Rankin.
I'd like to think we will replace Paea with a like for like replacement at the very least and possibly a new quality centre.'"
Yeah I would go with all of this.
Would deffo sign Rankin but reckon he is going
I think (although not sure the right decision) Cunningham will be released.
I suspect HTW is also going. But I really hope not

Re-signed with Manly I believe. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hodges come over now he's retired from Aus duty

I would like Rankin to stay but it depends if he gets offered anything in the NRL. He may prefer to play SL here than reserve grade there.
If Cunningham is released we need another hooker and there are not many good ones about.
To release HTW would go against everything Pearson and Radford say they are trying to build. He hasn't really had a chance yet and he can't be paid much. Pryce won't be around forever and we need to plan to replace him.

| If the rumours around the NRL players are right what happened to allowing our youngsters to come through?
IF we are keeping Sa why the need for an NRL centre or indeed another backrower when we have Fash, Downs, Turget et al or are they just going to be loaned out to Donny for another year to fester.
Cunningham is a must IMO, Radford however clearly doesn't rate him, the kids had naff all chance frankly and I think it has had an adverse effect on our performances.
It seems to me that Radford doesn't trust the youth system and the players it's producing, having another year of multiple changes personnel wise disrupts things, it's not surprising that Leeds are a top side, they have very few outside signings and trust to their kids coming through, same as Wigan.

At the minute we have no centres signed up for 2016 other than logan who isn't ready to be playing week in, week out IMO. I'd keep sa and the new centre and let yeaman and michaels go. Using the younger players is fine if they're good enough but no amount of hoping they are is going to make much difference.
Where are we with non fed next year?
Mini
Talanoa
Rankin maybe
Can we have 7 now?

Youngsters that still in some cases have yet to prove they can make it. Others physically a yr or even 2 from being ready. Only abdull looks remotely like he could play week in week out. You'd have a field day if we made no signings and got bested every week. Probably talking about 4 signings and would likely lose more which narrows the player pool so youngsters will be pulled closer in and get progressively more game time.
If radford turned down frank 'the tank' Pritchard for instance for Turgut as he is right now he'd need certifying. But he wouldn't. No coach would.
Last few weeks the bench has worked fine. As much as I want cunno to have a run and "make it" I wouldn't change the last few lineups. Bench has been an asset as it is

The rumours so far are 2 NRL players, with one confirmed signing in Taylor. How would 3 incoming players show a lack of trust in the youth system, should we sign nobody? Way too early to be overreacting like that IMO.

| Heard Inu tonight. He's in french rugby I believe. No idea how he's going.
The rumour was he could come this season as union be done soon. With Lineham going to wire since Higham gone now.
Also from union he has exemptions if signed?
Bit extravagant but as a rumour I thought it was pretty good. It works at least

What positions are the 2 NRL players taking up?
If we are keeping Lineham and Naughton would Talanoa serve us better at centre, if not where does Naughton fit in, how would Logan get the chance to gain experience, how about Lancaster who certainly showed he could at least score tries aplenty at the back end of last season.
My worry is that we still fall into the trap of signing players from the NRL etc yet not giving out kids a chance.
Who this year has being given a shot that has come through our system, no-one, I think that is very telling don't you?
