On a serious note, during the game a few of us were discussing the Hudds tackling methods which got completely ignored by the ref. It's a hard game but some of what was going on out there was (in our opinion) leaving the players open to suffering serious injury.
This from a side that 2 years ago, when Hull were leading 22-0 at half time (I think) at the Galpharm, Nathan Brown went to see the ref complaining basically that 'Hull were playing too rough'. And that came from one of our players. It resulted in a penalyfest against us in the second half.

You remember that it was 4 all at one point with BOTH teams having kicked two penalties, right?
This is just plain wrong. You're confusing offside with markers not square.
Once again, NOBODY has blamed Child for the loss. Not one single person.'"

If your indiscipline cost you that is the players fault not child's. If you watch the way that the giants defend you will see that they all hold the line-it frustratws our supporters many of whom shout "meet em" because they don't break their line and there is no advantage by one guy stood a few cm in front of the ref
I do remember the score and I also remember we chose to run the ball on two occasions early in when we could have taken four easy points we went for goal later on in the game not after a few minutes.
No I'm not getting confused I know the difference and the rules-
As for the tackling techniques!! Remind me -how many of our lads are up before the beak this week? Or last??

Your players were stood in front of the ref nearly all game yet we never recieved a penalty
Your wrestle was overstepping the mark on plenty of occasions, as too was the grapple tackle yet again we never recieved a penalty
Your marker defence split on so many occasions it was untrue
I wouldnt say Child cost us the game as you were without doubt the better side imo no complaints there, i just thought he made it easy for you with his constant penalasing of us, after all apart from the head high on sharp and obstruction on mauu for the 2 penalty goals which were correctly given, do you really believe you were foot perfect till 79mins and 30 seconds when we got our 1st penalties in the game??
He kept us on the back foot and ensured we could never win the game by taking too much out of the tank in defence, seymour knock on facing his own sticks another massive error, your knock on which led to your second try he waves back to 6 i could go on for ages, im not normally a ref basher but this guy makes my blood boild and spoilt the game from start to finish for a 3000+ following that had come to watch our team not the man in the middle

Er, yes you are and no you don't.
How many times have you seen a Sky game where the ref has blown for offside against the defence when even one or two players in the line are clearly in front of him? Maybe not often but it does, and should happen.
Not impeding or tackling, but in front of the 10 metre line set by the ref, gaining an advantage unfairly, and offside.

Exactly. If wingers or centres are offside they are reducing the attacking side from going out wide with the ball and forcing them down the middle to the onside players. That is a penalty

| But if the ref doesn't think an advantage has been gained he can let the game continue in order to allow the game to flow. From my position on the sidelines I can say that If the ref had blown up every time fc had a man offside it would have been a hell of a lot more than 12 penalties. Did you not hear the hallelujahs coming from our crowd when he gave one???
In fact yes you are correct if he had blown his whistle for every offside infringement made it would have had a bearing on the game-we'd have finished with a much bigger margin-we'd have had even more possession and field position. You got in our half four or five times all game off your own play-that fact doesn't change.

You really are myopic. All we ask is that referees apply the rules consistently to both sides. This patently did not happen on Monday. As has been mentioned many times on this forum we have not said that he cost us the match, but he did cost us the opportunity to make more of an impact.

When I was reffing, if the outside backs were creeping, I'd let the defending skipper know, I'd also tell him that I'd wait until the 5th tackle to penalise them for it. It only usually failed to work if I happened to be speaking to a thick skipper.

So you reckon you were 6 times more disciplined than we were right up until 30 seconds from the end? Never offside even once? Markers perfectly square at every PTB?
OK then.

ahead of monday's game many Hull FC fans pointed out that the team would be more knackered than the giants because of the Good friday games + the Giants having the luxury of player rotation.
Given that tired players are more error / penalty prone it is possible that Hull would fair worse than the Giants.

Oh I expected us to be a little worse through fatigue. But 6 times worse? More importantly, no matter how fresh the Giants were it's difficult to believe that they didn't stray offside even once.
I've seen Child do this one-sided refereeing many times before, and as a neutral as well as an interested party.
