| Quote ="bonaire"you have to laugh at some of the old faithful on here.
yes we played well with one or two outstanding individual performances but as mentioned Wigan made so many errors, some partly due to our aggression and kick chase yet no one has mentioned just how important was our on field discipline in getting the win.
It makes so much difference when you dont concede a penalty on the first /second tackle after finishing a set in the opposition 10/20 and then go on to give away either another penalty or a six again which usually led to a try.
The other factor was we turned Wigan around 3 or four times something we should be doing a lot more untill we have the cutting edge to open teams up in the oppossition 20.
Its plain to see that Grix has got us fitter with a better defensive structure and our attacking line was deeper,so he has to be commended for that but it is his job after all and its certainly taken time for the penny to drop on the Indiscipline issue.
Lets hope we can continue to be competitive for the rest of the season. My concern is that apathy has kicked in big time with FC supporters but my opinion is unless the club can pull off some major signings of exciting players with the quotas thay have they will struggle to win back the lost fans.'"
Fans/people are fickle. If we do well next season may be this season fans will be back not in their droves but back. I think yesterday’s attendance reflected that whilst we have been a lot better some fans only want a win and it was not expected. I enjoy a competitive game where we are in with a chance. That has been the case in the last month. So I will attend the games if I can. I hope others do?

OUTMaybe, just maybe people are just happy and enjoying the win and performance.
They maybe don't feel the need to vent their frustration or analyise the performance this week unlike some who like to come on here, have cheap digs and boast about how much beer they can drink and what super fans they are
I thought for 70 minutes or so we were outstanding and Wigan uncharacteristically were poor in parts coughing up cheap ball.
The performance yesterday was everything as fans we've been crying out for, win lose or draw and for me Grix deserves a lot of praise.'"
I’ll drink to that.

| I can see where your coming from Bombed Out. But there are a few who hide behind " it's my opinion" to have regular non stop digs at FC. If you can be bothered to write pages and pages of how bad the club players coaches are then surely you would be happy to celebrate a win without the nonstop digs. Anyway as you rightly say what a performance yesterday

I do worry about how much self-inflicted damage has been wrought on the club in these past four years.
I fear we may have lost some supporters permanently. In these situations, people drift away, find other things to do with their time, get out of the habit of going to games and after a while lose interest in the club and sport for good.
Think some absent fans out there will need sustained encouraging signs before they consider returning. This year has felt like the final straw for a lot of the 'floating' voters. Hopefully, the club can find some way of enticing them back, and soon, or they will disappear for good.

| After now being able to watch the game it was again a very good TEAM performance and Grix and the coaching staff have certainly made inroads in to fitness, concentration, consistency and discipline since Smiths departure.
I know it was only his first game but for all the doubts of signing Vuniyayawa for the remainder of the season i thought he had a great game.
In regards to Aydin we’ve certainly had Rovers pants down and spanked both cheeks swapping him for Brown. Thought that was his best performance since joining at LF.
Litten again another impressive showing and the likes of Balmforth, Charles & Martin getting better each week.
I admit I’ve been critical of Trueman but thought his performance was a big improvement on recent showings.
Thought Walker was outstanding and showed what a threat he is and solid defensively. With the likes of Walker, Moy & Litten I’d question whether we really need to go looking for a quota fb.
Still think Wigan played their part in us getting the win due to their uncharacteristic errors but we for once took advantage of the errors and many were forced by our effort.
Hopefully that win against the reigning WCC & league leaders will have huge affect on confidence

| Fans have been sick of watching a team putting in no effort and getting hammered on our own patch regularly. They'll come back if things improve. Even though we've only won one of them, the last 3 games have been entertaining (the first 20 against rovers apart) and the crowd have responded and the atmosphere has lifted

66% completion rate, 16 errors tells the tale of Wigans afternoon
Thats a reversal of what our stats have looked like and just shows how difficult it is even for a top team to win games when the completion rate is so poor and the error count so high
Like i said earlier no one has even mentioned how good our discipline was for a change yet it played such a huge part in our win.
Even if we dont play any better keep the discipline in check and we will compete in most of our remaining games

Or, we played very well. Knocked them off their stride, and made them make errors. That would be a positive way to look at it.

Doesn’t suit his agenda though mate.We played well, was aggressive and totally knocked them out of their stride and I think we caught them by surprise and we also nearly had another 3 try’s….Balmforth held up,Aydyin just got grabbed from acting half and no support when King bust through

No surprise, the tip tackle wasn't a bad one and litten's was a grab across the shoulder that went high due to momentum . Looked bad at the time but wasn't much in it when I saw it on replay yesterday

| Fantastic game, back after my four day weekend off, great way to celebrate, massive raps too Grix, Walker fantastic, like a few have said on here prioritise a 7 along with a pacy centre of a decent big prop as our other two quota players, we have Walker, Moy, Litten and Hardaker can all cover one but think if Davy sorts his one on one defence out we have an excellent centre on our hands. Aydin great game definitely got the better deal with that one along with Briscoe. Chamberlain solid and versatile which is what we need, Trueman's best game for us apart from his brain fart before halftime.
Some great kicking form Smith from hooker apart from his brain fart with two minutes to go. Long live the King lol very good first hit out from him. Ligi better in prop or 13 his best position IMO. Balmforth so dangerous from ten out, so great goal line defence on show too, the tackle on Nsemba was fantastic. Great win well done the lads.

I'd say we're alright for props personally, still think we need to drastically improve SR in the Whitehead sort of mold haha

Extremely unlucky for him, there was an opportunity for him to get some regular game time at centre.

Probably do with one more for depth, our four main props are good enough, with Fash the 5th, then 3 young props as back ups, Staveley could play prop too, if we signed another backrower.
Definitely could do with another forward, if we can Lam, I'd love us to sign a Willie Manu type backrower.

in one way yes but this could give him time to bulk up his upper body and he also needs to add some strength to his legs.
Still not sure on Davy Litten but if he can add some weight in both upper body and legs it could help him try and fight for a centre spot because at the moment he is too lightweight to make a centre and behind Walker and Moy at full back

He certainly has the frame to add some bulk. Same height as Jake Wardle, and would be good if he can get to a similar size in the next couple of years

He did, but that was against the best centre I'm SL, who has been doing that to alot more experienced centres than Litten all season. But agree he needs to improve his defence, putting on extra muscle will help this.
