Anyone know what's happening with this guy? Out of contract at end of year, so wondering if he's good enough to warrant an extension? I know he's been on dual registration but has he been worth the time and money invested by the club?

he's been doing big minutes in the 20s apparently, so must be a plan to get his fitness up, see a lot of potential in him, could do a lot of damage up front

Was ineffectual for the 20's yesterday out in the centres, a couple of big hits in defence. Think 2nd row could be his long term position. I'd keep him for another year, he's definitely got something.

Think he could be a good wide running 2nd row. Or given Gentle wants a more mobile pack he could play prop, but needs to work on his stamina.

Played well against Leeds, despite the team getting hammered. Some good hits and offloads, was definitely one of the stand outs.

From what i've seen he needs to be playing against fully grown men to progress further.

Thought he had a decent run in the centre but has been stronger at second row, only 6 games this season due to injury at start of season, has now played full 80mins in the last three and scored 6 tries.

Is he training full time now ?

Thought he went out on dual reg at beginning of season? If not would like to see him tested at that level sometime soon

Yeah and I remember going to Wilderspool and seeing him batter one of the Warrington forwards, I think he got sent off if my memory serves me right

He was a good player, I can remember rumours of him being close to a GB call up.

Mark Jones made one decent run in his career at FC. He wasn't good and worse he wasn't good value having cost a fortune to bring in. He was definitely a "big unit" but that counts for nothing without heart and ability. That rumour must have been started by his agent.

Probably, I was only young and heard it in the threepenny.

Mark Jones was actually capped for GB. He came off the bench against France in Perpignan in February 1991 after only 20 appearances for Hull. It was only ten minutes, so one of the shortest international careers ever!

The best thing about him was his punch.

The main thing I remember about Mark Jones, was that his boots use to always fall off.

yea the match at wilderspool he really had a go at the wires forwards and there had sum big lads, think it was the match against halifax where he had his one decent run, but what a run, pity he couldnt do it on a regular basis,
