I know not everyone is a betting person but many Rugby League fans are and im trying to get a rough estimate of how many people would actually use the Betting Pods to place bets. Usually many of you bet before the game but would it interest any fans if you could pop into the concourse at say 12-12 to get a bet on during the game instead of ringing up ??

They used to have one at saints, but i think it's gone now. I can remember many years ago backing Willie Talau 1st try and Gaz Ellis last try. Willie held up his part of the bargain!

the way how some nutters flap their arms about shouting absolute gobbledygook would leave me confused as to whether the lines man had missed a forward pass or if grixs odds for next try scorer had dropped to evens.


for me rugby family sport , betting for betting shops and race courses .

Think it would probably do quite good business. It would be easier to place say first scorer bets ect as there would be special sheets printed just for our game rather than messing about asking for prices in a shop or over the phone.

Good idea for me. Thinking about it I'm surprised Stan James didn't have some when they were official sponsors of Super League on Sky Sports. Mind can just imagine it, Sean long jumping over the hoardings to place a bet just before kick off in a game!

Well what makes drinking alcohol (allowed in Belle Vue) a family thing but betting not?

I imagine it'd bring some much needed revenue into the club having one of the bookies rent some space.

Yes, and I was making a point to a post saying we shouldn't have one because rugby is a family sport. Alcohol is an 'adult' rather than 'family' activity, and is sold within Belle Vue, so that also wouldn't fit in if a betting pod also wouldn't.

Think it would be a good idea. I would certianly use it.

i dont drink , but when i go to the wacky warehouse with my kids (A family restaurant) i dont take issue with adults drinking , i would take issue if stan james was in the corner taking SPs for the 3:20 @ doncaster.

The Pod would be used for Rugby LEague and a coupon made up so you could bet on your own game and any other throughout Super League, National divisons and the NRL.

I personally think it would be a good thing and i cant see the problem if you did want a bet on a horse while you was there

Betting pods at RL matches, hmmmm?

Different idea, but because so much can happen very quickly in RL, its almost impossible to bet on matches and that's just guessing the score, before you even go into all the other different implications.
