Where have I said Peto did not look interested today? I said he looked like he did not give a crap against Brad, as many people did.

As for Atkins, he is in England team for a reason.

Rooney seems a lot stronger than at any point in his career, able to make that extra yard in the tackle and to stand firm in the tackle. Still think he can improve sharpness with a bit more game time.

Thought Grix gave a reminder that he is at his best when running at the opposition in the middle of the field, just like early in the season.

although he made yards the facts still as they have always been he backs up well but as an offensive player he does very little except get the ball at first reciever and get tackled with it 9 times out of 10 his creativity is very poor

Dont know which game some of you were watching, but Rooney did nothing for me apart from pass at the play the ball, get tackled almost as soon as he received the ball and missed tackles. IMHO he hasnt got anything to offer the team to move us onwards and upwards.

adam..he is in the england team because he is going to leeds..he does nothing for us..last season and this..NO INTEREST !

I agree with some of this, I think hes lacking just a slit second of concentration, and he will hold on to the ball just for that bit too long.

And I don't think there is any reason to bag Atkins

I think the bit you are missing is that tries are not scored in the last play, they are built up over at least 6 if not the whole game.
Rooney today was targeted and drew their defense out of shape. When he was tackled he was always tackled by two and got a quick play of the ball.
He will have days when he does get through and days when he won't but it doesn't mean he isn't influential.

For me he solves the problem of too many organisers. He doesn't organise, he runs at the line. I think Grix would do a similar job if given chance.

As for Atkins, he's our top try scorer, easily the best we have at busting the line and tackles better than most backs in the league. Just cos he didn't play when we win doesn't mean he stopped us winning. (That's as naive as saying Blanch or JD should be sold too. Thow in Murphy, he didn't play either!)
Why are we not just happy we have a big enough squad to win without him?

Agreed, Rooney has done nothing for years and nothing in his performance against Hull suggests he is ready to turn the corner.

He is a stand off who doesnt make a break or create chances for others. Time for a change.

I can't say I agree with that mate. He is in the England team on Merit.

We need to keep hold of Atkin's, he is our best centre.

In my opinion, the sucessful teams in S.L. have centres who can both attack and defend (Gidley etc.). Simple fact is that we are relatively week in the centres, as we have Gleeson, can defend but in my opinion offers nothing in attack, and same goes for Martin. Atkins is the only back who ever looks like he is going to break a tackle and is sharp going forward.

i cant agree either. as mentioned on other thread, who are we going to replace him with? its alright saying someone needs selling without having someone who is better to come in. if you haven't its pointless.

No he is in the England team because of his form, he deserves it. Last season is history.
