| I dare say the warehouses will open up their yards for cheap parking ala Huddersfield.

| Asked about funding too. Was told outright that a complete funding package was in place by one of the Yorkcourt reps. TRB can you confirm this or is it news to you too.
That alone for me was the best thing i heard this morning. With funding still to be found for Salford's new ground and Richard Wright's interview last week, when he said "Funding is still to be finalised" i really think we are in the driving seat of all three parties now, although the only thing we're really racing is the clock.

Are there any plans to improve public transport to the ground in general, particularly on match days, for those who are used to the Belle View walk and walk, as opposed to park and ride?

| Good to see so many at the presentation today. Certainly impressed with the Yorkcourt staff who all seemed to know there stuff. Was impressed by the way the stadium is "hidden" in a hollow so that the houses shouldn't be able to see it all really. The warehouses are taller and cover a larger area so the ground should be a minor issue really. Nice to see the detailed thought about new roads, footpaths, links to cycle ways etc. Really looks as though it thought through to the fine detail. When asked when can the first sod be dug up it sounds as though it will be April if all goes to plan. They are well aware of the RFL timetable for the next franchise. They sat the RFL want it "beyond the point of no return" - i.e. all steelwork up and too much money already spent to back out. They feel that they can achieve that, and speaking to them I could believe them.
Now
Santa - all I want for Christmas is ........
detailed planning permission by April.
Is it a lot to ask?

If all goes well in the next month and the project isn't called in for a public enquiry, then i think we could be ready to submit for detailed pp by Late April. It's clear with the level of sophistication put into the designs that Yorkcourt intend to have all potential questions ironed out BEFORE it's submitted which will help reduce the risk of this being called to London.
By Late April BOTH us and Cas will be ready to submit for detailed planning permission, which is almost perfect from the point of view of the council, who could potentially announce 2 stadiums on the same day.
If that we're the case it will all come down to funding, which has always been a question mark for Cas. Something we we're told today was in the bag for J30! Happy days!!!!

| If RW is to be believed, Cas have funding in place for a ground around the same size of our proposed one with a view to extending in the future, how good would it be if both were announced on the same day and both were built in the same time scale. Don't think there'd be many happy faces at Red Hall or wherever they all hangout now.

I think they should look to both our clubs and to set the new standard in super league instead trying to clubs push side for new areas

=#8000FFCan just imagine Richard Lewis' face if Cas & Wakey did that, as well as Leeds fans etc who want both clubs out of the league, it'd be quality if the clubs had already thought of that and that's why both clubs seemed to be waiting a bit

Imagine if Salford got theirs too. That would certainly pose a problem as to who to eject from Super League. I sincerely hope both clubs get stadiums because then the licensing is done entirely on the one thing that matters - the rugby!

| One of the guys there was telling me that they initially will build the stadium open-sided with the option to fill these in ala Doncaster which I think is a great idea.
2 ends for standing and seats down the side.
Wouldn't suprise me if it went to a public enquiry TBH

| As one of the rep's said regarding the public enquiry "why would the council back the site by the gift of the land and then not push for it not to be called in for public enquiry, there would be no logic to that at all"
To which someone behind me muttered "screams of Wakie Met"
If nothing else every politician in offices knows how little job security they have and will be looking to cash in on as many "vote-quick schemes" over the coming months as possible. This project is a nailed on vote winner. And something i thing old Boxy & Co. should be building their re-election around. this scheme will create jobs, boost the economic well being of the city and become the crowning jewel in the regeneration of Wakefield. Not to mention save professional sport within the traditional boundaries of our city.
With the support demonstrated through the petition and the superb designs and planning that has gone into this scheme already i see no reason it will be called in.
The final design with the corners filled in would be one of the best rugby league stadiums in the country! I like the look of Saint's new ground but The Wakefield Community Stadium is something very special!!
Well done Yorkcourt.

if york court can fore fill the drawings to full what we have seen today then I will more than pleased, the four corners could be added later date at more cost as we all know but lets get the foundations layed what is needed first is the acceptance to dig first
I would like to know if there was any protest ?

=#8000FFGo on then, I'll bite, in pure Rugby terms alone why should Cas be worried? finished 7th, have one of the best academies, a team with quite a few local players and play the best brand of attacking Rugby in the league - all with only 6 overseas players.
If the criteria was all business & on the field related none of this stadium rubbish, Cas & Wakey would be safe, comfortably whereas Salford would be gone straight away.
