I don't think it's the right time to be getting rid of Kear and I think he should be allowed to see this season out given the way it started and all the stuff that has happened at the Club. I would be happy to see a change for next season as I do think that Kear has run his course with us. If we are still in Super League and spending the full cap then I would like to see a young Aussie coach coming in and if we are in the lower leagues then I'd like to see an up and coming British coach at the helm. I guess a lot depends on who would be making the decision as I don't imagine Glover knows enough about the game to be able to appoint a head coach.

Could AG actually demote Kear without having to pay him off?

Moore was absolutely right he had made the tackle and there was no need for Griffin to come inside. Johnson did exactly the same thing in the first half that cost us another try.

Johnson is shocking defensively and Griffin isn't much better. Seems to be a recurring theme with our wingers. Coaching issue perhaps?

Think that's pretty unfair. Didn't see any of the forwards shirking work in the first half hour although Hickey may be an exception due to being knackered. Down the middle we were ok it was the 3 appauling tries we gave away down the fringes which broke our backs and gave them a half time lead. After the break we gave away another awful try as one of our wingers proved they have nothing between the ears and got drawn in to allow their opposite number in the smallest of gaps. Admittedly due to a combination of the heads going down, pathetic refereeing, having 12 men and fatigue lead to the second half being a disaster, but for me the props in the first half especially were not the problem

I am not Kear's biggest fan, said for a long while now he's not the man to take us forward but today was truely awful.

That said Glen Morrison or JD are not the answer either.

What we need is a complete shaKe up, a new man with new coaching team - fresh start required.

I'd take Noble or Millward but my preference would be Powell at Fev. Think he's done a sterling job on a shoe string budget and he knows that league inside out and he's brought throw a lot of young players.

At the start of the season you could see the players TRYING, in recent weeks something seems to have significantly changed and i am not sure what it is but 5 drives and a kick is so out of date now, amateur coaches/teams don't promote that anymore and if the club seriously think fans will continue to come and watch this sh#te week in week out then IMHO I think the club are in for one hell of a surprise soon.

well said mate. only an idiot would get shut of kear a month before they announce the franchise. don't see what all the whining is about. we knew what was going to happen this season. think we have done a lot better than a lot expected. thought up till half time we were doing ok. ref didn't help. we have just got to keep plugging away with what we have got.

Sorry but your deluded if you think Kear is going to make a difference to our franchise bid. Its about the next 3 years from 2012 and his contract is up at the end of this season and if the club have any sense he won't be here for the next franchise period.

I can just imagine the RFL announcement now sorry Crusaders/Quins/Salford/Cas (delete as appropriate) your out of SL cos Wakefield stuck with John Kear and we and Sky like him.

Your comments and those of others are part of the problem IMO. The coaching staff and the players are having excuses for not performing/winning handed to them on a plate. We as fans, whilst respectful of the effort that the team puts in should be challenging them and the coaching staff to improve - Kear said we would be better by round 27 than we were at the start of the season but we seem to be going backwards of late.

and you are delude if you think changing the coach is going to make any difference . he would stlll have a young largely inexperienced squad with a few old stages. at this stage of the season there is no white knights with magic wands who is going to pull a top scrum half, stand off and hooker out of a top hat and if kear was to who would you get ? and who would come ?. we knew at the beginning of the season with the squad and the crap that had happened we would have a lot of these days. certain people on here said we wouldn't win a game and that we would be getting 70 past us didn't they? i can understand some of your criticisms and you are probably right with most but at this stage of the season it aint gonna happen so the best we can do is get behind what we have got and enjoy the good days. there won't be many.

I don't mind losing or even getting battered by 50 as long as we know we tried and gave everything.... in recent weeks this has not been the case and that's what really upsets me ...

I haven't last 2 weeks... and with the unacceptable changes in personnel its frustrating.

Kear said we'd be better round 27 than now.. I can't see that being the case and if it isn't then he has written his own resignation as that was his target and he wouldn't have achieved it.

If we pull off another SL licence, then we need to look for an Aussie assistant who can bring modern methods, conditioning techniques and attitudes to the club - he should also be allowed to clean house and get rid of some of the backroom staff who are nicking a wage. Perhaps add a young British assistant, and put together a succession plan that sees the Head Coach exit at the end of his contract and the assistant step up.

If we go down, then I guess we're looking at a cheaper option - an existing Championship coach who can be tempted away, with maybe JD or Morro somewhere in the mix.

Either way, for mine JK needs to go at the end of this season.

To be fair though, the current squad are youngsters and tryers, I mean how good can it get? Yes it's tedious and some of the selection choices are frankly bizarre, however I think with the squad we've got we couldn't have expected much more than where we are now.
