I thought Franny spoke well in the Wakefield report and didn't hesitate on the funding issue.

That's because there is no funding issue with Newmarket.
Largely down to the efforts of Uncle Rodney.

Unless these "fans fund-raising events" have already happened the money is still to be raised, ergo there is still a shortfall.
For fans to bridge the gap he would have to be honest and tell them an amount they needed- this would require honesty on his part and I doubt he has an honest bone in his body!
For their effort fans would at least want to see the records he and Fulton with hold- to know such elementary details such as how much WR was sold for..
IMO that man can't even lay down straight.

Talking of seeing plans unveiled, we all got treated to this image when we received our Season Ticket renewal brochures in the post this morning.

You can see the umbrella's (which are for the sun beds) in the existing South Stand car park, well just out of shot is a new outdoor swimming pool with a wave machine... a mini surfworld apparently!

You do know that the fans OFFERED to put up some money? the money is there, but the fans want to put some up too to be part of the process, with things like buy a brick etc.

Why not reveal that all your funding is in place for the full build on national tv this lunch time then? he had a perfect opportunity to put all the lack of funding rumours to bed and give the facts about the funding.

As already said, some companies don't want to be revealed yet, saying the funding is there will lead to the question where from, like Fully said, all will be revealed in due course.

He did give some facts and did mention the sources of funding - The Jungle (which has been sold), Waystone, Council (£2m), Other commercial partners (I presume by this they mean sponsorship and naming rights) and the fans.

From that lot, there should be more than enough money to build a stadium especially if the cost is approximately £13m.

So there's more than one company funding the development and they don't want to be named yet? so the deals aren't finalised yet then.

Theres 1 or 2 signed, and another that isn't 100% yet, but close.

Your right he did, the plans looked like Chesterfields new ground which cost 13m and with standing along one side it will give you a higher capacity than the 10000 they have. Is it still going to be a phased build is that why a cap of 13300 has been announced of will that be the capacity once its completed?

I like it, modern take on a traditional design.

I think Chesterfield's new stadium is what it is modelled on to be honest. I thought it looked sexual a month back when it was first opened.

Not sure on the rest of it. Think 13,300 - using common sense - would be the actual attendance when built. I'm guessing there must be room to expand if needed though - probably by filling in the corners?

Looking at the space, the corners can be filled in and there's room to add a 2nd tier to the seated side stand.

One thing that does strike me though.

If we assume that these drawings have not been thrown together in the last couple of weeks just because Sky are in town, then these would be the drawings for a possible "shared" stadium, as this was being mooted not long ago, when I assume that the detailed drawings were being put together. It's just that this "shared stadium" looks decidly amber and black to me. Hmmmmm.

i think thats like going to a show house and saying you dont like the decor so you are put off,the colour scheme im sure could have been changed.

i like the fact that it is in our colours makes it more like home and a place we can be identified with.

TBH it does n't take 2 minutes to alter an image in photoshop does it??????
