Much rather us sign Shenton than Atkins as Michael has better ability to feed his wingman. If you check the stats you'll see how many tries Leeds score down Seniors side and that's partly because we nearly always play down that side but also because Senior is bar Gidley still the best at getting his winger away, something Atkins still needs to learn. Shenton reminds me a lot of a young Gary Connolly.

Whilst I admire your faith in your buddy, and would love you to be right, I would have thought the players who would wait for the nod from their (small time) club should the likes of Leeds come sniffing are few and far between at best and non existant at worst.

It's up to Wakey though to accept a offer from Leeds or any other club for a player under contract. I guess they would talk with the player and see what they felt about moving to the club in question.

mcguire signed a four year contract only last season.
Sinfeild also has around 3 years on his and publicily stated he wanted to end his career with leeds, so yes it is very likely they will both move.

If Atkins got the chance of a move to Leeds and the offer was right then he'd jump at the chance.

Thing is we don't need the cash. That was basically a Giants fan trolling on here and the VT, she did well and got a few bites from the snappy ones. We're building not selling, I'm not doubting Atkins would like to play for the Rhinos, most players would but I'm confident it would take a very substantial offer for us to be even tempted of parting company with him.

Does it matter who is better, Atkins or Shenton? The point is that Atkins plays in a Wakey shirt, and as long he does well in those colours, I don't give a monkey's nut about Shenton. If Shenton decides to cross Heath Common, then I will begin to care about him.

The best thing we can hope for is that Keith Senior still plays well, because Ryan would only go, I imagine, to improve his prospects. Playing for Wakey has got him in an England shirt. Playing for Leeds reserves won't.

Unless Leeds buy him for a big six-figure sum, then loan him to us until Senior retires, with Leeds picking up the tab, and then we use the money to entice Shenton to Belle Vue.
