The problem I have with all these so called socialists, lefties, do gooders what ever they call themselves is they make their mouths about fighting for this that and the other is when the sheite hits the fan and they’ve got to fight for it they brick it, that’s if any have got something to fight for. Example, prison officers sold their right to strike for pieces of silver. All these socialists would cack themselves if it meant ragging up for more than half an hour.

| Look it is quite simple, what was at steak here was our precious dimocracy. In 2016 the nation was asked a question, do we want to leave or stay in the EU and there was nothing on the ballot paper about leaving with or without a deal. The people answered the question and this should have been implemented, that's democracy no iffs no butts endof.

A bit puzzled by this. Who do you think decides how much money Wakefield has to spend in the five town centre's???

| And if like me you walk around many other towns they're in just the same state. Shopping patterns are changing and there isn't enough passing trade to keep many shops alive. Even places like Stratford on Avon have these problems. A lot of the people who complain don't actually spend much in town so shops close. Then there's even less for the people who do actually shop in town. The very nature of town centres is changing. Rent and rate rises are often the killer blow. There's not much any council can do about it.

| Fortunately i live in the Hemsworth constituency....just, which thankfully remains Labour......just! It really does sicken me to see all these posts slamming Jeremy Corbyn , not just as a politician, but as a person. He's a decent, clean living family man who has integrity and honesty for God's sake. Are these people saying that they think a lying, cheating philanderer is a more voteworthy choice? If so, all I can say is this nation is sadly in a very, very bad state.
As for standing by the results of a so-called democratic referendum, have the people forgotten that the majority of Brexit voters voted to leave based on a whole list of lies posted on the side of a double-decker bus. on this issue alone the results of the brexit vote should have bee declared null and void.
As for Johnson all I can say is that if you thought Thatcher was bad then watch out!!!
I was no fan of Mary Creagh, but Wakefield deserves better than this.

Corbyn may or not be a nice chap. But his student union style of politics would have bankrupted the country. I, and obviously millions of other people thought the same, thank god.

| Come on, Wotsup. Do you honestly think that Labour would have carried out all those things that were in the manifesto? If you did you must be very naive. Even more so if you think Johnson will carry out all this 20,000 police and 40 hospitals rubbish. When did any party carry out these pledges? But if Labour had carried out only half of the promises made it will be infinitely more than we're going to get.
When Johnson and the other Chuckle Brother across the pond get their scheming heads together watch out. You'll wish Kim Jon Un was our leader.

| Quote ="Fishermanscap"They used to say people in Wakefield were so stupid that if you painted a Donkey red they would vote for it, do you find that theory acceptable?
Why is it that when things don't go peoples way they claim the other lot didn't read the manifesto properly because one has to assume they are somehow daft. To call that attitude condescending is an understatement, yes mate in the last two never-ending years we've all totally not understood Brexit ect, I mean it's not like anybody's been talking about it is it
Take it on the chin, one side won one side lost and the majority gets what it wants, its called democracy. You can disagree all you like and hell you may be right as regards policy but don't you dare suggest people who voted Tory are stupid, the vast majority knew exactly what they were doing and did so with the best of intentions!'"
If you think I called or inferred anyone was stupid in my comments then you must be stupid! Where did I say that? Get your facts right before you attack me for making a comment, which I think is quite reasonable, judging by the number of people I know, who have voted Tory because of Brexit . When I have asked them about other Tory policies they haven't got a clue! Perhaps you're one of them and I touched a nerve?
I have nothing to take on the chin. I accept democracy.

Sorry, but the wishlist you DID vote for will be a pure fairytale as well. I doubt very much that we'll be out of the EU on January 31st also.

We shall see. At least Corbyn and his student union mates are nowhere near power and anyone with common sense is relieved about that

| When over 130,000 of the most vulnerable in our society have been killed as a direct result of tory policies, forgive me for not celebrating a tory win. How many more of our most vulnerable people will die over this next term? But, I don’t like this bloke cos the media slate him, or get brexit done. Pales into a pretty weak argument when people are literally dying.

| One thing I will add here, which reading back, I don't recall anyone has mentioned yet, is the money we find into the EU. I believe in 2018, it was something like 16 billion GBP.
If and when we leave, we wont be doing this.
Maybe, that money were saving will be put to good use, like pumping more into the NHS, and putting more into the police force.
As for the homeless people, maybe some of these buildings, that are derelict, in all towns and cities could they maybe transformed into hostels for the homeless. Just a thought. There is also the argument about those who are genuinely homeless, such as the lady in Wakefield who has been recently found out.

I didn't realise that there was a league table for 'cuts' in budgets where can I see this I'm keen to see the top four but maybe the low end of the table would be the more interesting read.

I’m dismayed at what’s happened to this country over the last few years. The inability to accept defeat is sickening. It started with the Scottish referendum and has got worse since.
A majority is a majority that’s how democracy works, it’s simple.
People seem to want their own mini democracy in which their candidate is the only winner, pathetic.
So what do we end up with. A minority of people who think it’s more important to sabotage all things Boris even if it makes things far worse.
The result is the result and it’s a resounding one. We are leaving Europe, we have five years of Tory rule. You can fight it like some child or get on with it and make the best of it. In five years time you’ll get another chance, that’s how it works. People in this country have become utterly self righteous and need to grow up.
I didn’t vote Tory for the record.
Up the Trin
