That pretty much sums up how I feel; one or two of our players didn't exactly cover themselves in glory (Latu, Gleeson) but overall, a great team performance and not much to complain about. I can live with those kind of defeats.

no you do pal... when you carry ball up 25+ times in one half your bound to drop ball in weather like that a couple of times and missed tackle yes tackle being 1 out of 19 and thats second half....

l'll tell you your problem you expect jd of old the centre that was busting through scoring try's for fun well for you that dont watch closely his game has been change at the request of his coach he's working his socks off in the park doing the things others dont see thats why his coach picks him week in week out...

I've got to agree with that. The bloke has never let the club down and never will.

Sure I get frusrtrated if he loses it in the tackle, but I get frusrtrated with all our players when they drop it, as for sure they all will at some point.

I agree he works very hard and gives his all and yes does take the ball up alot... Trouble is theres a big chance hes gonna loose it in a tackle - its not common sense asking him to take the ball up when theres a 50% chance wel be turning over the ball

This hasnt just happend over night or over the space of a game - this has been going on all season...

If this were true then he wouldn't get a game at any level of the sport

Yes JD made mistakes on Friday night, he's human........and the fact that he spilled the ball late on a couple of times quite possibly cost us the game (along with a couple of rash decisions by Glees and Tesco), but ATEOD who was there with 10 to go, willing to take the ball up AGAIN?? Im sure if you watch the game again and look at the amount of work JD did, you may well forgive him an odd mistake late in the game when he is knackered and its peeing it down





As for some of the other stuff posted on this thread and others......it's almost laughable



1 - Lets play a relativley unknown quantity in the front row against the current Champions when he only stepped off a plane 4 days ago - or play somebody who you know will bust a gut and run through walls for the red white + blue, and let the new lad have a run with the u20's just to settle in and learn some of our systems


2 - Lets blame JK for the pass that Glees threw to Blanche just before halftime.....this is clearly a training ground move that wasn't perfected?? (has anyone thought that JK might just have had a word in Glees's ear at HT to explain that it was a poor decision??)
3 - Lets move Cooke to 13 when we are short in that area, and just as he's starting to show some form - obvious really because all the back row are playing cack, Tesco, Fergy, Johno, Jd, Danny K, Hendo etc etc etc.
4 - Lets not sign a prop to replace Tronc - because we have Moore, Korki, King who are all so 'hard' they will never get injured - and because we have Bibb

and Gledhill who is at just the right age for a run of SL games


5 - Lets get JK reading this forum, he'd learn so much

If this hasnt been mentioned already, if i was JK i'd have the boys in training this morning practicing wrapping the ball up in the tackle...

Leeds offloaded twice and it led to them scoring when there was more than one in the tackle??

I know if this happened at Stanley and we lost cos of it, Ricey and Stu would have had us doing it in training...

I agree, if players make mistakes then you go away and work on them. That is at any age and any level, you need to work on the areas of your game that need improvement, but to read some of the bile on here you'd think all the players did everything on purpose

I agree with the comments on here in support of JD. When he was talking to Sinfield's biggest fan (Harry Gration) on the Superleague show he explained that when you are chasing the game in appauling conditions and trying to make something happen there is a risk of losing the ball in the tackle, or you can wrap the ball up and take the tackle. IMO I think his game (and the performance of the team) has improved since he moved to centre. When Millard is back I'd like to keep JD in the centres and drop Gleeson what JD lacks in pace he makes up for in tackling and work rate.

Jd stats in the league express speak for themselves. 28 tackles one miss, 20 carries for 157 metres second only to peacock and they were all hard drives dont think he got a pass of cook at while he was in the centres. he was clearly helping tesco out at times allowing him to have a breather as he was exausted from all the tackling. two of our oldest players and deservedly most respected along with obst.

Just watched the game again, think JD was a tad unlucky with the lost ball that led to the Morrison sin binning, Senior to me looks like he got some of the ball whilst on the floor, not complaining mind, only picked it up in slow motion and the ref would not have seen it.

Ow the stats man - gotta love these ... 19 errors (lost possession this season) ... Lies as 13th worst in SL ... Take a look at our other second rowers ... Dont wanna get in a squabble about this anymore - the only point i want to make is he should not be taking in as much ball as he does as its not very productive for the side...

Why not? Without being offensive its a bit of a silly point you are trying to make. That is what he is there for, give the man credit for looking for extra work its counter productive to hide behind the other players not take on extra resonsibilities, whether he is capable of holding his place on merit is a different argument but to question his commitment to the club and his team mates is rather small minded just because he spilled the ball a couple of times.

WTF are you on about 50% of the time. 205 carries 19 errors not even 10%. Obst has made more errors than jd yet its never mentioned about his error count and tesco has made 12 errors from 3 less games than jd but he is a hero. I,m not knocking any of those players and jd i,m sure would say himself he needs to be better with his ball control. Jd is also 16th tackle bust in league and jsut outside top 25 metres in league which i,m sure he will climb into after this week. JD is at back end of his career and people are looking for anything they can get to slate him, which i feel is a disgrace after the service he has given to our club. he has been very good in recent weeks and is still a major player in our team. everyone goes on about hendo great workrate, jd is miles ahead yet its never mentioned. he needs to sort his errors out but is still offering alot out on the field.

the guys work rate and commitment is phenomenal. he is still a good player with a lot to offer. if i was jk, for those reasons alone he would be the first name on the team sheet. imo the best captain in sl.

The fact that you suggest it us better for him not to take the ball up. I can't see why you don't see the problem with that suggestion.

I'll bet i know one Wakey player who will be unhappy with the mistakes he makes, he happens to be one who cares deeply about the club and the team and the supporters.

Despite any errors, I would bet that we perform better as a team when he is in it, because of his commitment to the cause and the regard in which he is held within the camp. He seems like a pretty decent bloke, and if he didn't sign next year, I bet we will be poorer for it. There's more to a team than what you do with the ball.
