Thanks for providing the opportunity, maybe don’t be so quick to ridicule in the future eh?
On a more serious note, looks a good signing. I agree with an earlier comment that he shares some Fifita traits but looks as if he needs some proper conditioning[/quote:1xcr7se9]
You are going to lose it if we signed another tomorrow. Just keep calm and enjoy the ride

| I think what I like most about the strategy employed by Powell and Mills is that all our overseas recruitment has been young players brought up in NRL discipline and borderline NRL squad selection... Super League is perfect for these guys... we have not had to do much in terms of physical development, or mental preparation... and we have developed an environment and culture which allows them to settle and blossom.

| Welcome to Caius Faatili!
Looking forward to seeing him play in the red white and blue ..
He looks like a stocky powerful and quick prop forward that is a bit different to the other props. Coming off the bench as an impact player possibly?

Completely agree.
Mills's research and eye for the stats is invaluable to us.
The fact we can beat other more successful clubs to a signature has a lot to do with the environment we are creating and the word of mouth from those already here.

| [quote="Trojan Horse":35hmasnw]That’s great if we beat two teams to his signing. Length of the deal is a little short I feel but I’m sure he will be made welcome and it could lead to longer deal.
The absolute strange thing is, although we beat them to his signing, they can still freely talk to him about 2026 and sign him before he even gets to Wakefield. What a bizarre state of affairs that is.[/quote:35hmasnw]
Yes it is strange when you put it like that. Usually option for a second year isn’t there.

| I reckon someone coming over at 23 who has been on the cusp of the NRL hasn't limited his deal to one-year just so he can have the option of signing for another Super League club. He's done it to put himself in the NRL window. Irony is that if he is fantastic we'll lose him to the NRL, but we'll have one great year. We could do with him being at the David Fifita level, where he's great for us but just not quite good enough for the NRL!
I'm quietly confident about this year. I can think of a few clubs we'll be better than.

I am curious where we will see him play. Seems he can play prop and 13. We may see him spell with Pitts at 13 to start with.

| Welcome to the club Caius.
Certainly runs it in like Fifita, though in some of those clips, looks a little quicker, and runs more direct.
Could be a real handful

| Apologies the table below hasn't copied correctly, whilst always a little wary of statistics, these give the impression that he is a player on an upward curve performance wise.
Who is Caius Faatili?
Caius Faatili is a powerful prop forward who has established a strong reputation in the NRL reserve grade across spells with the WM Seagulls and the Sunshine Coast Falcons.
Faatili never made a full appearance in the NRL, having appeared just once for Melbourne Storm in an NRL Pre-season Challenge game, but was a feared presence in the Queensland Cup.
The New Zealand-born enforcer has made 39 appearances in the reserve in total, scoring eight tries, all of which came in the 2024 season.
He is a strong ball carrier, who averaged 110 running metres per game, with a total of 2,432 metres made in his 22 appearances last season.
Year Club Played Tries Metres Made Post-Contact Metres Defensive Efficiency
2022 WM Seagulls 3 0 102 45 80.49%
2023 WM Seagulls 14 0 1,041 430 92.86%
2024 Sunshine Coast Falcons 22 8 2,432 976 89.38%
The forward averaged 8.3 carries per game and made a total of 67 tackle breaks, showcasing his strong running game. He is also hard to put down in the tackle, making 975.6 post-contact metres.

Wouldn’t expect him to play for a couple of games till he’s settled in unless needed ofcourse but it does sometimes happen.
Thinking about it I do believe we will see him at Loose with Pitts.
Be an interesting scrap for that spot between Vagana and Faatili!

Not seen anything on his profile that suggests he plays loose.
