Quote ="sixtogo"Those 'knuckledraggers' as you succinctly call them are lifelong fans of this club. If because of the clubs policy their enjoyment of the game is compromised to the extent that they stop attending the club will cease to be quite rapidly. And from in my experience over the last few games there are plenty of people unhappy with the arrangements.
You say there is segregation in practically all new stadiums. Yes there is, but the keyword there is NEW. They are designed to accomodate that, with clearly defined sections, entrances and seperate facilities for that particular area. They also have better viewing standards than old grounds. Belle Vue isn't designed for segration and no amount of rope partitions will make it so. People would have accepted it with a move to a new ground, but whilst a BV it just won't work and do nothing but pee people off.'"
I say knuckledraggers when referring to the supporters who see segregation as a barrier to either stand on the perifery to yell abuse at the opposing fans or worse still see it as infiltrating and cause bother. The type who were recently issued banning orders for exmple.
With respect to BV, I dont disagree its not a ground easily segregated however that wasn't my point. People are saying its a sad day that segregation has ben introduced at RL games as though Trinity are the first ones to go down this route.
