Would be pushing for at least £100k. In reality they'll offer us three more friendlies, we'll snatch their hand off and tell them they can keep Broughton! Fee will be 'undisclosed'
All this is hypothetical by the way

Ah, that will be because the club haven’t received a transfer fee for a while now. That money is bound to have dried up.

| Knowing Leeds, they’ll probably offer us Ablett, Bailey & Senior.
But I was under the impression that their junior set-up was so good they could pull somebody off their all conquering production line .
I personally don’t understand all the hype regarding Atkins, he’s a big strong lad, but Shenton for instance, is technically a better centre.
If Leeds do come a calling (again) & everyone’s happy, so be it. But in a couple of years they will shove him in the pack, and turn him into a workhorse ala Ellis.

two different centres if you ask me - FWIW atkins is all about power where shenton is more skillful than atkins with better feet i believe. as finishing goes they are on par in their own ways though shenny knows how to find the line with footwork and pace and atkins can be devastating on his way to the line with his power. the two along side eachother would be a pretty decent pairing!!

A fair assessment, particularly considering your mindless contribution on another thread. I'd add that atkins does have footwork - a good step at the start of his run - and vision for the gap, although Shenton does have the more rounded game in terms of passing and linking up. I think the two together would be complimentary and form a superb partnership. Just a shame Shenton was prevented from joining us when he wanted to.

| As WRE has alluded to, Atkins can be devastating near the line and is strong as an ox, but I feel Shenton has the better centre credentials regarding feeding his winger & positional sense when defending. But after watching the match in France on Saturday, I thought of the two, Atkins had the better game.
Maybe the jury is still out, but, the one who stays loyal to his current club will receive my admiration.

You mean when Wakey wanted him but wouldn't stump up a fee?
Both are good centres, but Shenton has the edge based on speed & defence imo, Atkins is strong anywhere inside the oppositions 10-20, but I couldn't see him going full length

seen as though you have mentioned saturdays game, i felt very frustrated for shenny, we just didnt seem to get any ball to him what so ever. dont know why as the french were terrible and we could have scored on either channel at will.

| I don't know anything about these signing rumours, but I've spoken to him a few times around Pudsey and I know he's a big Leeds fan, and has been since he was a kid. He has a gaff in Pudsey too, so maybe that will play a part in any future transfer.
As for going the length of the field; didn't he skin Senior for a long range effort at Headingley in the season he joined Wakefield?

If thats what you say then I'm very inclined to believe you. Any news on Brough? Some saying hes about to sign a two year extension, others saying he's on his way. If we can keep hold of Atkins and Brough it will send out a statement of intent, even more so if we can add a couple more quality signings to complement these two for next season. would be nice to keep Drew on for another year also.

Yeah he was a Leeds fan growing up but he loves it at Wakey, we gave him his chance and he is more than greatful for that. He still think he owes us a lot. He would not go unless Wakey said otherwise.
Yeah that try was one of the best he has scored to date, think that was when he burst on to scene and people sais "the kid has something special"

Normaly agree with what you say, but please don't put him on the win. In academy at Brad he was played at wing a few times but I think centre is where he belongs. And for the people that say play him in 2nd row, well I think he would be wasted there. Although at times he is wasted at centre seen as he does not get much ball. Look at Wigan, he Lato and Peto looked great together.

| Does Atkins have a sell on clause in his contract?
IIRC we only sold him for 10k so thought he may have a sell on clause added to the deal
