lets not turn this in to a slanging match , tbf i would be mightily pi@@ed off after the shambolic treatment after the Huddersfield event so i can emphasize with Al.

its also true that many of the people who threw themselves into these events have some issues a little closer to home but unselfishly keep putting them on the back burner. makes it a bitter pill then when the wakey express backtrack on promises but shameful when the players do. it would be fair to presume the faithful bunch are getting a little bit miffed.

Yep thats probably the case.

Would like to do something for in Leons memory and donate it to the Benevolent fund, it seems he's been forgotten (in a way) due to all the fund raising for Adam.


Running out of ideas and energy

All the ones that have not shook a bucket?.... They are nothing without people putting money in. It's all good going around asking for donations but you need people to be putting money in.

Adam i could quite easily "go on one" mate i really could. but i won't, it would do more harm than good, lets just say a few (and that does not include me) give far too much time and do far too much with very little help and support, time and time again because no one else will do it.


1 question, how many Wakey fans have made an effort to support Leons family, and by that i mean doing something has a mark of respect to the lad.

Fair enough, I credit what you ,Acko and the gang do with the walks you’re a credit to the club. But it’s the people that sponsor and put money in the bucket that are just as important too.

Some people don’t have enough time on there hands to be sorting out events etc and I guess they will think that area is covered and are just waiting for news on it.

I can name you two who have put others before themselves a few times.

You are worried that i'll flip again

I certainly wouldn't want to get into any judgement/debate of people's support or respect for Leon's family but i thought that the silence at the Saints game was the one of the most moving signs/shows of respect I have ever witnessed.

Three people who spring to mind on this, all 3 have two children (not nippers i'll grant you) all 3 have full time jobs, all 3 have mortgages, all 3 watch Wakey home and away 90% of the time.

Tell me who has got less time adam?

It's like your saying that people who have not done the walks etc are not worthy people!

I, like many others have put plenty of money in the buckets and paid up sponsor money too. Without that the fund raising events are rather pointless.

PLEASE this walk is for EVERYONE and is to raise money for a charity that really really looks after people in our fantastic game who have been injured doing something they love


We want everyone to help out, were not demanding fortunes...even if its 50p you know, but we want people to be aware of the charity and what its working for

If you think its a waste of time, fine, thats your call. After meeting someone from the fund yesterday I was struck by what the RFLBF do for past players and its not cheap, they help out with changing house designs, help maintenence with wheelchairs and take members to the cup final to have a day out

this walk is to help awareness of this charity, its not for self gain from any of the organisers, its to bring awareness

I think you just have to accept that some people will organise/take part in these things some will support these events by contributing cash/time and some will not do either that's just the way of the world.

Your club have been fantastic with us and we just want to raise awareness of this charity

ill be honest, only in the last few weeks did I relise what they did to help former players and its fantastic and I feel honured to be helping
