| If Huby has slimmed down he'd be a decent signing considering our budget and the market.

| Quote ="bellycouldtackle"Vasty : Massive step forward because 1) Huby is a better player than Scruton ( I rated Scruton who was my player of the year for the 2015 season ) and 2) Huby is a miles better option for us than the the work shy fop Anderson. So in my books that represents a massive step forward.
To be honest Vasty if Huby really is available I can see plenty of other clubs would be in for him so would be a real feather in the clubs cap to get such a high quality player to sign.'"
Go on then I'll give you that as it sounds fair enough to me.

| Huby must have missed a couple of games in 2015 because he dislocated his elbow and was rushed back after about a fortnight to play in the Challenge Cup.

According to below, Huby played 31 SL games and 1 CC game
[urlhttp://www.loverugbyleague.com/stats/players/Craig-Huby/[/url
Last year apart from his broken wrist, he missed a couple of months with a tear to his pectoral muscle . So it's not like he's been out with the same recurring injury, or one for example on the same leg, which is the main thing when looking at injuries imo.
Imo he'd be a good signing but I also think that he isn't leaving Hudds, especially after the retirement of Crabtree.

| We have pages and pages of signings rumours, we have some members confirming they are ready to be announced, others who question their fitness or even contemplate what they will bring to the team. The problem is that the majority come to nothing, the players stay where they are or move to other clubs.
I suppose desperation demands that all straws are clutched regardless of how unlikely they are.

The speculation and rumours regarding players is going to be quite active as we have two players of our own who's futures are open to speculation.
It helps to pass the long dark nights, rather than just moaning all the time!

Well we might as well shut this place down in the off season then. Can't believe you've logged on to moan about player rumors. All fans do it and all teams have plenty that turn out be rubbish.
I mean seriously, talking about who we might sign in the off season has gone on long since before the internet was around & atm we have a Coach that has said we've got signings to come. It's the off season, nothings happening, so what's the harm.

| My stats were taken from the Hudds website where it stated he had played 32 games in 2015 and 15 in 2016 season . But it is rather pedantic if we are arguing about 30/ 31/ 32 games . The point I was making was that his stats from where ever point to the fact that he is not injury prone as some were insinuating.

Yeah it would be like having JK as your coach. If their was an archetypal UKIP or Corbinite you're it. Blinkered and reactionary but above all daft.

| I will stand to be corrected on my comments on Huby and injury problems.
I do recall his wrist injury last year, but was certain he had other niggles on top of that.
I will say though, that in the last few times I saw him play. he did look overweight and out of condition, which is sometimes a telltale sign of a player who is having injury problems. One thing that does concern me on this, is a comment someone put on here regarding him having a chronic back problem. We have just lost someone with one of those, and unfortunately became a bit of a passenger towards the end of his time with us, which was a shame, as I rated Anderson.
I did though in a previous comment regarding Huby, say that I did rate the player, and if he did get some decent form and fitness back, could be a good player for us.
One other point is, wasn't he at one point captain at Cas. If so, then that could be useful, as we need leaders on the pitch.

Exactly. JK - born in Cas, played for Cas but kept Trinity up and sent Cas down as our coach.

He also had some well documented off field problems which affected him. Anyway it will only happen if Huddersfield can first find a replacement.

As much as some fans like to believe otherwise, it's a rare player who will only produce for his home town team; in reality, they're pro athletes and they'll perform for whomever is paying them - hence the fluidity of the player market.

Wait a minute. Does that mean he never performed to his best for us because his heart was really with Widnes.
Oh the potential the lad could have achieved if he'd played to his actual best with passion for the club.
I may strike him off my favourite player list now.

| Huby would be a good signing and I'd have him back at Cas on a 1 year deal.
Let's not forget that he had personal issues on top of his injury problems which must have impacted on his performances. If I found out my wife was having and affair with my best mate, it would undoubtedly affect my performance at work.
At the end of 2016 he looked unfit, but it's nothing a good pre-season in the gym can't resolve. His knee and back problems may be more of an issue, but on a one year contract he's got enough ability to make it worth the risk,

| Chatting to a mate at work who's a Giants fan & he says that Rick Stone has recently given an interview in their local rag which says that Huby has lost 1.5 stone recently, which has impressed him & he is now back in his plans for the forth coming season.

Pretty basic but smart coaching from Stone. Tell two players you're not sure about that they are on there way out unless they tidy up their acts. We should try it more often, worked with Reece Lyne....for a while.
