Its hard to feel sympathy for the club when so many of its supporters have their heads up their @rse claiming this is all a RFL conspiracy.
Even more annoying are the claims that the rest of rugby league is allowing one of its member clubs to go to the wall.
The cold hard facts are that mismanaged clubs (member clubs or not) will go under if they fail to deliver on financial promises, and the majority of the remaining clubs will have to trade on a shoestring budget making ends meet the best they can. If this means picking up players on the cheap then so be-it, Wakefield have happily expolited similar opportunities in the past.

I agree with FeartheVee's comment that there are positives to be taken from the administration route but your potential new owner hasnt helped with instilling any positivity into matters by making statements that he clearly cannot back up.

Most of the RFL were probably off work yesterday. I had an out of office reply from one of the backroom staff on Friday, saying they were away for the Millennium Magic weekend, and would be back in the office on Tuesday. Today is probably the earliest possibility for a meeting with Mr Glover round a table rather than a hotel bar in Cardiff. Unfortunate to say the least that the Administrator has been pro-active in the meantime.

One different thing about the London and Crusaders sides not having their teams fully picked apart is that now the RFL have to sanction all transfers. If for some reason, they didn't want clubs to sign from those clubs - they could deny the transfer. If they wanted us to suffer, they could give the free for all.

Quins wanting Jeffries means they still have to pay his wages. It might be on the cheap to buy him but not to pay him. Surely they have already built their team and didn't plan on adding new players.

Saying that, the administrator has effectively put up a for sale sign by saying they will look at all offers. Doesn't have to be a super league club. Likes of King and Korki would be great for one of the leading NL teams. If they get them cheap they might want to make them their new leader.

I hope the sale happens soon so we can get back to talking about bad football and good effort.

Its all one big plan to earn us more money. Sell all the current players and then £10 buys you a raffle ticket and if your number is called you can play in the next Super league game.

I think when the RFL encouraged the crusaders to take their chosen course of action it really must have ed off hmrc - I remember thinking at the time that the next RFL club to find itself in the would be absoloutely shown no mercy by these people.

In the current climate if I was looking at taking over a club in the wildcats predicament I would be speaking with the people at Red Hall with a view to see how likely it would be that their SL status could be ensured.

Maybe this is why Mr. Parkin elected not to get involved?

It may be the case that by promising a championship club promotion the RFL have dug themselves a hole they can't really get out of (not without the threat of legal action anyway).

I do appreciate what you are going through (I am a vikings fan), the main thing is that Rugby league continues in Wakefield for the foreseeable future. I noticed a lot of posters on here sticking the knife in, however it is not down to the fans to be blamed for what a previous administration has done badly.
