| It was a gutsy win yesterday, no doubt at all.
The 20 point lead, in less than 20 mins was incredible and it looked at that point that we were going to rack up a cricket score.
Fifita was almost unplayable and the 2 clean breaks were superb but, after conceding their first try, we just seem to lose all of our shape and composure and compounded this with penalty after penalty, although some of those decisions seemed very harsh.
Having said that, to be down on troops and come back to secure a game that appeared to be slipping from our grasp was a great effort.
Huby deserves massive credit for the minutes that he put in and it's another 2 points, which keeps us in touch with the top 4 ! (which is just mad, when you think where we were 2 seasons ago).
If we can keep on chalking up the wins against the lower half clubs and maybe surprise one or 2 clubs above us, we have everything to play for.
We could still do with Saints, Catalan or Wire to keep struggling for form though as it could all get really tight for 8th spot.
Come on Trin !

What gets on my nerves is the constantly negative comments posted to the total exclusion of everything positive that occurred in the game by the teams OWN FANS.
Ok if the Codheads come here and start with that, at least you know they have an axe to grind and to not take em too seriously, but when your own fans are here bagging players all over the place gobbing off about how utterly pathetic the team is in virtually every level and questioning their commitment, ability and professionalism, I think its time to step back and ask the question.....why are you actually posting, are you actually a fan of WT or is there some other force driving you to behave like this.
Nobody's saying we shouldn't point out failings, things that need improvement, but they can't be the beginning middle and end of every reason you post.
Mistakes are made, nobody's perfect, the players know it, the staff know it, there's no need to smash em to pieces with it, its unproductive, unnecessary....almost gratuitous sometimes.
As fans we do care, why we can't direct that depth of feeling in to posts that help and encourage the players and the club rather than just grind it in to the ground...I dunno.
boils my p*** sometimes
rant/end

Quite so, that's the second most points they've had put past them, only just behind what Castleford put past them
I think our biggest problem as Wakey fans is expecting the worst to happen. We're so used to our team giving up and losing that it's strange having a team who are willing to fight for each other and fight for a win. They're doing great this year and are getting better as the season goes on. I'm trying to make an effort not to comment on our games until the final whistle has been blown as this team have the ability to astound.
What ever happens, we're all Trin fans and I'm sure we all want the best for the club

| 2 people deserve some praise after the game.
The sniper who shot Ben Jones Bishop.
The medical person who gave him the miraculous recovery to let him get up and run round like a 4 year old in a sweet shop

| At the end of the day, you got what you deserved - a good victory. I think the hardest thing for we Leythers to take, is actually recovering from 0-20, to take the lead, and then go on to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory! That, plus we are just not worldly wise enough to be able to mount any sustained pressure on our opponents. Having watched the 'highlights', you did score some excellent, well-worked tries, and I thought we'd seen the last of Liam Finn, when he left Featherstone - where he was always a thorn in our sides.
Keep it up and there's no reason you can't make the top four - a position that may just be beyond our reach, now!!

| That was hard to listen to - the poor dog kept skulking off when I was yelling at the radio; he only re-emerged when we pulled away in the second half.
I was as disappointed as anyone to see the big lead slip away, but it's unreasonable to put that all on our players; Leigh were obviously cack in the first 20 and were always going to put some things right and have a say. I'd suggest that more credit is due to our players - who would have let that change in momentum stick for the whole game in the past - but they regrouped and put the game away fairly convincingly in the end.
Judging by some of the sour grapes tosh from some Leigh fans, we must have done something right.
Interesting to note the talk of Leigh adding some quality players before the M8's - I wonder how many of them joined Eddie in branding us cheats when we did that last year...?

Exactly what you did to us at yours. We dominated most of the opening 40. Then you put things right and totally dominated us for the entire second half, both offensively and defensively. I do not subscribe to the theory that we eased off for that second half. What happened then was, in my view, entirely down to Trinity.

Indeed.
Leigh fans were our fiercest critics at the time (when Brian Smith came in) and there was a feeding frenzy against our "rule breaking", which we clearly weren't. In fact, many clubs in both the middle 8's and Super 8's have "copied" that style, either to compete within the "new" part of the season or, to avoid ending up there.
The system is still bonkers though and the sooner that we admit that there simply aren't any other clubs worthy of SL (apart from KR and in a couple of years Toronto), we can all get on with enjoying our RL and plotting to beat The Aussie in a major competition.
Before the abolition of "Franchising", there were increased numbers of juniors coming through at all SL clubs and the game has started to go backwards.
Some clubs dont even have their own academy set up

Weren't we all debating a 'chicken wing' tackle? Must have been a chicken leg tackle! (Obviously this was a separate incident.)

| Not a fan of all the sniping between ourselves on here or with Leigh fans. To be honest, I like Leigh and their ground and they are to commended for the way they fought against an unfair system of no promotion/ relegation and kept it together till it changed.
We got a lot of injuries. I was sat at our end and unless you had binoculars or Steve Austin's magic eye, you couldn't be sure what the cause was. I would need to watch the replays.
It was a fantastically entertaining game with some great tries. Leigh showed some mettle to fight back but so did we after basically chucking a winning position once. We had to do an Alf Ramsey at half time 'You've won it once, go out and win it again'. Fair play; I am delighted with where we are as a team to be honest but we really do need to address the weekly 20-30 minute implosion. Something psychological going on there!

Yep me too. Proper Cannonball that caused Fifita distress, a man with legs less than a meter in diameter would have been in real trouble!

Thats what you get when you judge on the 'balance of probabilities'. It says more about the Disciplinary panels biases than it does about the actual incident. Are Fielden and Sculthorpe still passing judgement?
