| Thanks jack in the box but I'm a lady not a sir (ha ha ) I also agree with BigAl, the time is drawing near and they are trying desperately to come up with a solution for this crazy situation. It's a non-starter for me, lets keep shouting about the positives of our club from the rooftops as well as keep pointing out the negatives about our rivals. We can't buckle now...are they putting out ideas like this just to see what reaction they will get?

| This is a cover story and has nothing to do with new stadiums. Superleague will be 14 teams for the next three years at least, probably longer. The only way Wakefield would be back up in a years time is if another club, i.e Crusaders went bust and this won't happen if the Wrexham supporters trust takeover over the football club goes through smoothly and quickly.

| Apologies for the swearing , that just shows the depth of feeling about this , but as I put , if this imaginary scenario was to take place , I along with many others would be seriously considering if we would be ever interested in this so called ' sport ' ever again
It would be the final nail in the coffin of the sport between SL and amatuer

| So will Halifax, who have met the criteria for SL, be allowed 12 months to sort out their Academy, scholarships and community initiatives? The CC clubs have 3 years in which to qualify on field, either by winning the NR cup or reaching the GF. Should they be disadvantaged by an unlevel playing field in the first year and possibly the second if Cas were to come down? Honestly, would you be happy with that if you were Championship fans?
Anybody want to answer the above? It really gets to me when I read so many of you criticising the system for the unfair treatment the Wildcats have been subjected to but when another unfair scenario which benefits the Wildcats comes along you're all for it. I've a lot of sympathy for your plight (straight forward promotion and relegation providing criteria is met would be my choice) but this proposal, if indeed it exists, would kill the Championship for good. Would you be happy to see that?

| Can't see this being true as it is very unfair on the championship clubs,as we will be seen to be getting preferencial treatment.
If we go down we are allowed to spend more on the salary cap in the first season anyway and if there is chance of promotion due to the ground we would be in a Widnes type situation(why bother cos we are going up?)
If it is true then it should be us, Cas and Fax in the mix but also why bother? If is is due to the ground situation nobody should get the boot cos the RFL are saying that us and Cas are on par but for whatever reason we have to go,why can't Cas go after all they seem very confident they are going to get PP on WR so coming back up would be a formality.I would hazard a guess that in every other box it is very close(enter the Cas fans going on about admin).
Also Cas would have to agree to this and I can't see that happening as they would only be able to plan for a year like we have this and look how that is turning out and as Cas are a BIG club it would be disastrous.

| It appears the Crusaders are confident of staying up with the signings they are making.
Keith Senior signed today on a 2 year deal, stating he has joined "as he can still do 2 years at the top and would not consider dropping down a division!"
The final franchise decision will be made later in the month though you understand!! B**locks!

| Its funny because I can never see Belle Vue been developed with this latest rumour it still won't be. If we allow the RFL to relegate us I do not believe they will let us back in whatever the terms and conditions of this 'deal'...this sounds like a nice little back door pay off...

| Once gone we won't be back for a long time, if ever. If the club have agreed to something like this then they are very naive and the RFL very devious.

| Quote ="Sesquipedalian"Latest rumour:
RFL will move the goalposts YET AGAIN though in the long term it might benefit WTW.
The SL will remain at 14 teams with the unlucky club being Wakefield
There will be a silver lining in the form of a 12 month review of the stadium situations for Castleford and Wakefield.
At the 12 month review If Wakefield have gained planning permission and begun building while Castleford have still not secured FULL funding and also begun construction then The Wildcats will return to the SL and The Tigers will lose their franchise.
If both clubs have begun construction the SL will increase to 15 in 2013, this solution works for the RFL because it appease the Championship clubs who are denied promotion, it allows the RFL to back up their statements that one team will be relegated and that the SL will remain at 14 teams, even though that might just be during 2012.
I have it on good authority that Wakeield have accepted these terms as they are confident of attaining planning permission and commencing construction. The Wildcats will also receive a parachute payment and a 25% increase in the salary cap meaning their year in the Campionship will do limited damage to the infrastructure of the club. AG and JE believe they can sell this compromise to the fans as a consolidation and rebuilding phase for the club.'"
My source tells me this is just another rumour and isnt true, the lease on the stadium is the key and we are in a better position than Cas etc IF we get the lease to the stadium sorted...

You could well be right with this. If we were able to find the money to buy back the ground then this would put us in a strong position because it would give us an asset which we would almost certainly be able to sell on for a profit in the future. Also it would allow us to play out of hopefully an improved Belle Vue until Newmarket is ready.

| I think the RFL haven't got a clue, and when they do finally cobble a decision together, I can't wait for their explanation as to why they have come to their decision.

I think we ought to invite Big Nige on to the pitch at half-time against the Welsh club in order to 'explain' the decision. It would be a bigger draw than the poular rhythm combination New Bounce.

| The RFL messed up once they said 1 club would definatley not get a franchise I can't understand why they came out so early on and said that and if that was the case it should be awarded to the strongest 14 franchise applications. I think whats happened is that we've provided them with a better application than a few other clubs and a better application than the RFL had expected us provide which has backed them into a corner. The latest rumour of us having to drop out just for a year providing Newmarket gets the go ahead maybe a compromise reached between the RFL and Trinity with the RFL acting on stadium but still recognising our strong franchise app and NM project hopefully suceeding but who knows? I feel the long term future of WTRLFC is bright and hopefully the short term is too.

ok we go down for one year and do no changes to Belle Vue due to Newmarket build do you think they will let us back in or do we have to do the changes to show willing money wasted to prove a point ?

| If AG & JE have agreed to this , then why all the need for " the most important meeting in the clubs history " & all that ? The big push for 5000 members would seem to be a bit of a con/farce if this is true . I'm a bit sceptical that the work at BV will ever get done , but I can't believe that they'd deliberately lead all of us up the garden path when they'd agree to this .

I dont think we would have to do Belle Vue up for the championship but the question is presuming NM gets the PI go ahead in March when would the build start and could we be in it sometime during the 2013 stadium. Hopefully we will get a frachise without having to drop down for a season but a few people have heard this may happen and right now I'd take it.
