On a personal level I am inclined to find this tenor of dismissive rhetoric only mildly offensive… my biggest issue with it, is that it lacks intellectual gravitas.. just an emotional and ill-conceived verbal diarrhoea. It offers no alternative hypothesis or strategy and speaks to a destructive and anarchistic nature… someone who prefers to throw stones rather than build with them.

That said, our current dualistic society has created this! So we cannot be surprised when we see a whole espoused ethos based on a single prejudice, and ‘angry’ is the cool psychological state.

I do not share this person’s view… and that will make them angry… (even though they will undoubtedly deny such an attitude)…I met Carter once and I shook his hand and thanked him for stepping in where, and whence, no one else would… I don’t know Minards but I share his attitude and application to business. I think he’s a safe pair of hands.

He's not someone who seems to sack coaches willy nilly, which is an admiral trait to not be too trigger happy, but bloody hell it's clear things aren't working with the current set up. If he genuinely believes he's seen enough from the coaching staff/squad that we will stay up then he's watching a different game to everybody else.

With Webster & Agar he had ‘the chat’ and they agreed between them it was time for a change. For some reason that talk doesn’t seem to be happening now despite us being even worse than we were then.

Maybe that is being left to any potential incoming replacement for the holy one.

I do fear though that the longer that goes on, that any chats will be too little, too late.

By sticking with a coach who is so far out of his depth, has led us to 12 straight losses and down into the Championship. If we do go down then I don't see where the money is going to come from to be able to build a team as well as pay off the loan to the council for the stadium. There is also the thing that nobody seems to mention which is directors loans...

In terms of offering a Hypothesis, I hypothesize that through terrible recruitment and coaches that the board are leading us down. I do not blame the coach personally as it is not his fault he was given the job when by every conceivable metric he is not up to it.

My solution to the problem in the short term is to relieve Applegarth of his duties and replace him with a more experienced and proven option such as Danny Ward, Brian Mcdermott, John Kear. In the long term we need somebody at the club who actually knows about the game, we have nobody at the club who is experienced in the game of rugby, we are crying out for a Director of Rugby.

The pre match speech by MC said it all. Two plans. One for the Championship, the second for SL. No other SL chairman would approach the media in such a way. That’s because, as said before, he is an account, albeit a good one. He is not the man to sell the future of the club to fans via the media. His facts may have been accurate, but the stuff he said is the kiss of death and for behind closed doors only. I did smile when he gave the coach a vote of confidence!. Maybe people like PT, who dropped a pop at me over the pie and peas evening, will eventually see that this is disastrous management, shocking recruitment, and sub standard coaching. I said I would try a bit longer. That’s it. If they can’t give a stuff, why should I.

Got to agree about announcing to all n sundry we’re preparing for championship ! Of it has to be considered but like you say behind closed doors . Fans need to hear positive remarks to even consider wanting to go to matches .. even us with season tickets! Can’t stand the way we are whimpering our way out of SL … to become an embarrassment in our 150th year is just shameful ! Fight for gods sake !
