| *****Breaking news******
Betts says he's not happy with ref!
Maybe he should look at his own players first.

| The sprit in the squad at the moment is phenomenal.
Every player, working their backsides off for each other and although we don't want to see 26 man brawl's every week ,the "one in all in" attitude is great to see.
Firmly in the top 8 and looking up the table.
We have a team to be proud of

| It makes me laugh when they call it a 26 man brawl.
There were really only 2 throwing punches and to be fair Moore was on his back so could hardly throw many.

| Golden rule in a brawl for all you young kids out there.
Never throw punches when you are on your back. Keep your head down and fight to get to your feet or at least knees before throwing.
Obviously not being involved is also good

| Having seen the tackle on Gibson slowed down. It was dangerous and could have resulted in a lot more serious injury than it did had he not tried to cushion the fall. So fair play to Cobb for that. The legs were way above the horizontal. Not sure how many games in super league a card would have been dished out for it, but that's more a gripe about inconsistency.

| I thought the Widnes fans reaction to the tackle and Gibson having to go off was terrible
In rugby league if a player goes of injured both sets of fans clap the player off
v poor from the widnes supporters

| Yet another fantastic performance from Max Jowitt !!! What a star this young man is going to be (he is already to us), it was his attacking run that handed the ball to Hall to win the the game.....just a brilliant natural talent. Well done again Max .

| Just watched the highlights. Ah Vans tackle on Gibson was definitely above the horizontal and dangerous and deserved the bin. From the angle on the highlights it looks to me like Moore was hard done by getting a red card, tackle looked across the chest, and can't be for punching as he was on his back! I may be a little old school in my thoughts, but the fight and spirit shown there was fantastic by your players. I know Hemmings would be preaching on SKY 'no place for this in the game', but it's rugby league not tiddlywinks, and there is nothing wrong with showing passion for the jersey and your team mates. I wish we'd have shown some of that fight last week! I'd be a proud man today after that if I was a Trinity supporter. I hope our lads can give Saints some of the same on Sunday! I also read that Betts is having a moan again as per usual when things don't go his way.

| Cracking post match bitch-fest from Betts - I expect he'll have questions to answer; he bemoans the worst refereeing performance he's seen in 30 years, but doesn't say a word about his players headhunting and foul play.

| Monty said he was talking to jd about the game, must remind him of the team spirit they had. Hemming 's could say anything good about us even if his life depended on it. As for Betts i hope that's not the type of rugby he brings to the England setup

I love your post even the ones I don't agree with. No edge to them. You give me hope that RL is still predominantly watched by fair minded folk.
I'd love us both to finish top 8. You can have Old Traffor, my dreams a trip to Wembley

Our least pretties victory but bloody hard fought, what more can you ask for and they all count.
Well done lads, most significant of many significant victories this season as it shows we can bounce back.
I have to say I love Finn even more now than when we signed him - he just gets on with it and looks to enjoy every moment - he may not be fast or flash but he knows all the tricks and is way smarter than most.

You are thoroughly entitled to be smug about Finn.
For goal kicking alone he's been totally worth the shirt.

Widnes fans were not disputing the penalty given (although I think the yellow card was harsh), we were more aggrieved with the fact it wasn’t even going to be a penalty to you until Scott Moore ran from 20 metres to start pushing Ah Van around which caused a melee, which resulted in Ah Van being sin binned. If Scott Moore hadn’t of ran in from 20 metres that wouldn't have been a penalty never mind a yellow card- that is not right. It also set the precedent for the game- run in from 20 metres and start a melee and you get away jack free.

Are you actually trying to say that it shouldn't have been a penalty, never mind a sin binning.
Maybe Moore shouldn't have run in but, if you were the one that had been "speared" I'd gamble that you'd have liked the fact that one of your team mates had got your back.
IF Cobb had dealt with that incident properly, maybe, the game wouldn't have played out the way that it did.
He should have gone straight to his pocket but, instead, allowed things to get out of hand.

| Call me old fashioned, but I see rugby league as a very hard, physical game, if I was playing and got "tackled" like that I'd be chuffed to funk that my mates piled in. It's great to see Scott and the others getting stuck in, it's nice to see a bit of passion in the RW and B. Long may it reign.

Said the same last night jinjer, yes it was poor from the Widnes fans to treat an injured player like they did and to say it was for Scott running in well I suggest they watch a bit more RL before making silly comments.

I have already said we weren't disputing the penalty- so no I am not saying it shouldn't have been a penalty.
We have seen numerous of incidents where worse tackles than that (Catalans v Salford last week) were not even penalised and the players were not banned following the match review panel looking at the incident. It wasn't a stone wall yellow card- he landed on his shoulder.
But I agree with your last comment- Cobb lost the game in that incident- he should have sinbinned Ah Van and Moore and the game probably would have gone without incident, instead he well and truly lost it.

| Nope. Moore didn't do anything to be sin binned in that incident.
All he did was see one of his mates speared into the floor, in obvious pain, with the tackler not getting off him. So he pushed him off. Didn't through a single punch.
