This always pees me off. The Wigan players were mostly jolly and having a right giggle after their humiliation v Leeds last night. I remember after some crucially important game we lost a few years back Glen Morrison acting looking like he didn't give a bloody toss.
My missus always says stuff like it's just a game or it's sportsmanship. WTF does she know?

Even my 90,year old Dad said “what’s he got to laugh about’ he didn’t look under any pressure at all, watch it back and you’ll see what I mean. It’s odd.'"
Bulls fan in peace. I noticed that too. It wasn't just once where the camera may have panned on them at the wrong time. It seemed a very jovial atmosphere in the coaches box. Same when the players came back out. It didn't seemed to be focused and ready to rip in. Seemed very relaxed and smiley.
That's ok in some games and obviously players aren't going to have Churchillian speeches and all guns blazing every game, but if there was one game where they needed to be full focus and intensity, this was it IMHO I was frustrated as a neutral, preferring to Wakey to win so god know what some of the fans thought.

Prior to the Hull game and following the positivity from the game against Wartington I was considering hospitality, now I'm staying at home.

Predicted to be a good turnout from Leigh so it's turned out a decent draw for a dying competition. I am warming to Leigh a bit as the season has progressed so it won't hurt that badly if they get through to the next round at our expense.'"
Interesting use of the word "if" (they get through to the next round). This infers that there may be some doubt about it.
Leigh are playing really well just now and they will beat us by 14-18 points, it could be more.
Last season there were usually around 12 in our group watching Trin.
This season there are 6/7 and on Friday it will be 1 or 2, mind you, because of the game is on Friday, it now clashes with something else.
Ordinarily, the Rugby would take priority but, to sacrifice a decent night out to suffer another pile of crap, is just not worth it.
Following Carter's interview on Sky, we know that Applegarth is safe for the season and that there is no cash for reinforcements and that the fans, who pay their hard earned brass at the turnstiles, just have to suck it up.
I cant think of any other club in any other sport that would be so utterly passive in our situation.
Yes, Wire have stuck with Powell after a really dismal season last year but, there is nothing else close.

| Michael Carter what a disgrace. For the CEO to say that relegation could be a godsend is the most spineless attitude ive ever heard. How does a statement like that help the players in our current situation never mind the money paying supporters. The man thinks only about himself. I thank him for his initial actions to save the club but it does not give him the right to preach relegation is acceptable. The quicker he goes the better.

| Quote ="alegend"Me too, All the coaching staff have to go ,could understand him staying if we were playing free flowing rugby ,but the football is so dire, There is no excitement, just a slow , one pass ,rugby that teams use to play before the four tackle rule was started. Fans are leaving in droves 20 minutes before the end some have watched for 30\40 years never to come back .If the Board think fans will come back when we are in the Championship to watch this kind of dross ,they are way out of touch Never though I would say this but thinking of stopping going my self while these two clowns are coaching. They are turning this great club in to a joke. This sums it up ,watching sky news to day and it showed the Hull try were the Hull player just ran to the line with 3 Wakefield players hold of him, it then said we had lost our first 12 matches and then it went back to the presenter, and she looked the camera and said, think they need a pep talk from the coach .After 12 games our points difference is about 278 -'"
No excitement just excrement….

| I see another statement from our coach stating the obvious. The problem is that he has had 12 games to show some improvement and has spectacularly failed to do so. He complimented Hull on their goal line defence but let’s be honest any under 12’s team could stop us from scoring.
I have failed to see any progress under his tutelage so why he thinks it will but I guess it is what he needs to say. He is completely out of his depth but I still believe he was selected not because he was the right man to coach but he was the right man for the club.

To be honest he should do the decent thing and walk. His self belief is admirable but it's misguided. The squad isn't good enough in reality but the coaching appears none existent from the outside looking in.

| I think both the club and mash need to have a chin wag. For me Mash should take a step back to the asst role and welcome the opportunity to work under a more experienced coach. That of course results in the club looking for a new man who can not only develop the squad, be in charge of recruitment but get the present squad performing from day one
Now would be the time. Any new coach would require a 2 year contract and wouldn't come cheap.

| Did I not read that our attacking problems were the fault of Ford and now under our coach it will change. He should be a politician because his skill to deflect responsibility is admirable however he is the coach or that is what it says on his door so the buck stops with him. If he actually cared about the club he would accept the job is just too big and step down regardless of the rubbish spouted by Carter in his support.

Yes because you can change a whole lot in 48/72 hours before a game. I do think we need a more experienced coach in the set up though.
If he is to stay as coach then we need a director of rugby with some vast experience - like John Kear.
DOR - John Kear
HC - Mark Appelgarth
AC - Rhys Lovegrove
Player/AC - Luke Gale
Last 2/3 years we haven’t had that experienced coach and even Chester wasn’t that experienced.I think we now need at least one experienced coach in the set up.
If the above doesn’t happen this season it needs to next season.

| Would Kear give up a head coach position to become DoR? Admittedly it's an echelon up - but for how long?
Furthermore, if Carter & Minnards are both going at the end of the season, making important appointments for someone else to inherit would be irresponsible - unless made with that person's agreement as they wait in the wings.

There’s no reason why they couldn’t have input or be a pillar of support. The role would be what the club would put in its job description.

Then he won't be doing his DoR jobs either.
If your list is intended to improve team there needs to be a DoR and a coach, whether head coach or assistant to current one.
But I agree what you are saying.
